You know what surprised me most about this little apartment? It actually lives up to that “5 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof” promise – I timed it on my way to catch an early train, and honestly, it was more like 4 minutes if you walk at a normal pace. The building sits right on Grupellostraße in Stadtmitte, which means you’re basically in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos around the Altstadt.

The apartment itself is what Germans call a “2 Raum” – so you’ve got a proper bedroom separate from the living area, which is perfect if you’re traveling with someone who snores (speaking from experience here). It’s not huge, but it’s smartly laid out with that efficient German design sense. The kitchen corner has everything you actually need – none of that fake minimalist stuff where you can’t even make coffee. I mean, the whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. The windows face the street, so there’s a bit of city noise, but nothing crazy – Grupellostraße isn’t one of those main arteries that never sleeps. Actually, I found the gentle hum kind of comforting after a few days.

What really sold me on the location was discovering how walkable everything is. You’ve got the Rhine just a 10-minute stroll away – perfect for those evening walks when you need to digest all that schnitzel. The Königsallee shopping strip is close enough if you’re into that scene, but you’re also near some great local spots that tourists usually miss. There’s this bakery around the corner that does incredible brötchen in the mornings, and honestly, starting your day there beats hotel breakfast any time. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where actual Düsseldorfers go about their business – you’ll hear more German than English on the streets, which I love. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving (street parking with meters), but with the train station so close, you really don’t need a car anyway. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that just works without any fuss or drama.

  The apartment is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The location is good, easy to access to different sightseeing places, train stations and shops.
