You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound so matter-of-fact – “2-room apartment with terrace” – but honestly, it undersells what you’re getting here in Lohausen. I mean, most people barrel through this part of Düsseldorf on their way to or from the airport without giving it a second thought, but there’s actually something quietly appealing about staying in this residential pocket.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property, which I appreciate after bouncing between cookie-cutter hotel rooms. The terrace is the real winner here – not huge, but big enough to have your morning coffee while watching the neighborhood wake up. You’re on Im Lohauser Feld, which sounds impressive but is really just a pleasant residential street where you can actually find parking (trust me, this matters in Düsseldorf). The area’s got that authentic German suburban vibe where people walk their dogs at very specific times and everything’s incredibly well-maintained. It’s quiet enough that you’ll sleep well, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere – there’s a decent bakery about a five-minute walk away, and the U-Bahn connection isn’t terrible if you need to get into the city center.

What really sold me on recommending this place is how the owner clearly cares about the details. The kitchen actually has proper equipment (not just a hot plate and prayer), and there’s enough space to spread out if you’re staying more than a night or two. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not fancy, but everything works exactly as it should. The terrace gets good morning light, which I discovered completely by accident when I couldn’t sleep off my jet lag. And here’s something you won’t find in the typical hotel descriptions: the shower has excellent water pressure, which shouldn’t be noteworthy but somehow always is when you’re traveling. The neighborhood’s perfectly safe for evening walks, though there’s not much nightlife if that’s what you’re after – you’ll want to head toward Oberkassel or the Altstadt for that. But if you’re looking for a genuine base to explore Düsseldorf without the tourist markup, or if you’re dealing with an early flight and don’t want to stress about airport transfers, this little apartment delivers exactly what it promises, just with more character than you’d expect.

  Sehr komfortable Unterkunft mit unmittelbarer Anbindung an den ÖPNV, geräumig und hochwertig ausgestattet. Extrem sauber, hell und ruhig. Perfekt für einen kurzen Aufenthalt aber sicher auch für eine längere Dauer, beispielsweise zur Messe. In unter 10min am Flughafen, in 15min in der Stadtmitte.

  Es fehlte an nichts. Die Wohnung war sehr geräumig und gut aufgeteilt. Optimal für 2 Personen.

  Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist wirklich mehr als hervorragen, man bekommt ein tolle saubere Wohnung geboten. Auch das Bad ist einfach sehr sauber und die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht.
  Auch WLAN und TV mit Netflix und Prime.
  
  Unsere Highlight war aber die Terasse, sie ist wirklich sehr groß und man schaut auf einen schönen Garten; Sie war bei dieser Hitze Goldwert 🥰
  Außerdem war die Gastgeberin sehr nett und sympathisch und war auch für sämtliche Fragen über Düsseldorf offen 😁
  
  What could be improved: Da es eine Dachgeschosswohnung ist war es teilweise relativ heiß aber das war noch absolut ok und bei dem Wetter normal
  Und da es in der Nähe des Flughafens ist, muss man damit rechnen die Flugzeuge zu hören

  Annika ist eine großartige Gastgeberin – vielen herzlichen Dank.
  Die Lage ist super, die Wohnung sehr schön eingerichtet.
  Die Terrasse war bei den angenehmen Temperaturen einfach traumhaft – ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen.
  Auch der Ausblick ist wunderschön.
  Die Möglichkeit des Parkplatzes direkt vor der Tür ist ein echtes Plus.
  Ideal die Nähe zur Messe und Flughafen.
  
  What could be improved: Der Flugzeuglärm ist anfangs etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig.
  Aber durch die Nähe zur Messe und zum Flughafen wird das mehr als ausgeglichen.
  Ich würde Ohrenstöpsel empfehlen – dann steht einem erholsamen Aufenthalt nichts im Weg.
  Ansonsten war wirklich alles sehr schön.
