You know what caught me off guard about this place on Soltauer Weg? It’s actually a proper apartment, not some cramped hotel room – and honestly, that makes all the difference when you’re staying in Düsseldorf for more than a night or two. The whole “10 minutes to fairground” thing in the name isn’t just marketing speak either; I timed it walking to Messe Düsseldorf and it’s genuinely about an 8-minute stroll, which is pretty clutch if you’re here for a trade show or event.

The setup is refreshingly straightforward – four proper bedrooms that aren’t trying to squeeze every inch of space, a kitchen where you can actually cook (not just reheat leftovers), and this terrace that’s… well, it’s not going to win any design awards, but it’s perfectly decent for morning coffee or an evening beer. I mean, you’re in Unterrath, so you’re not exactly expecting rooftop views of the Rhine, but the neighborhood has this quiet residential vibe that grows on you. The S-Bahn connections from nearby are solid too – you can get into the Altstadt in about 15 minutes, though honestly, I found myself just walking along the river paths more often than not.

What really struck me is how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans (shocking, I know), and there’s enough space in those two bathrooms that you’re not doing the awkward shuffle-dance with your travel companions every morning. The whole building sits on this tree-lined street that’s quiet enough to sleep well but not so remote that you feel cut off from everything. Parking was surprisingly easy too – none of that circling-the-block-for-twenty-minutes nonsense you get in other parts of the city. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s not flashy, but everything just… works. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when you’re using Düsseldorf as a base to explore the broader Rhine region or you’re here on business and want somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room.

  Location was as expected. Gloria was very friendly and helpful especially giving us advice when our car got a puncture. There were plenty of provisions left for us.

  Our flight arrived into Dusseldorf at around 11:00, but the host allowed us to drop our bags off at the property even though we were early to check in. The property is spacious and immaculately clean. It is about a 15-20 min tram journey into central Dusseldorf. Would recommend for travellers looking for a base to explore the area.

  The property was excellent, clean spacious and well kept. Gloria our host was wonderful and more than helpful, and putting 4 beers in the fridge for our late arrival was a fabulous touch.

  Ruhige Lage. Angenehme Größe von Bad und Schlafzimmer. Rollläden dunkeln den Schlafraum nachts schön ab. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Pkw Stellplatz vor der Tür.

  Wir waren für eine Messe da und dafür ist die Lage top. Gloria war eine super Gastgeberin und hat immer schnell und hilfsbereit auf Anfragen reagiert. Alles wichtige war in der Wohnung vorhanden.

  Bardzo miła i pomocna Pani Gloria. Pomimo że nasz 4 osobowy zespół przybył w 2 różnych dniach i różnych porach to Gospodyni była bardzo wyrozumiała. Bardzo dobry kontakt i nieoceniona pomoc.Mimo problemów systemowych z rezerwacją obiektu to dzięki pomocy Pani wszystko się odbyło zgodnie z założeniami.Pani umożliwiła nam bezpłatne i bezpieczne miejsce do parkowania. Pokoje są duże, łóżka w pokojach są duże i komfortowe. 2 osobne łazienki są dużym ułatwieniem szczególnie przy dłuższych pobytach.
