Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Air & Fair Apartment” on Beedstraße, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds a bit corporate, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in Unterrath, which means you’re getting that authentic Düsseldorf neighborhood vibe without the tourist chaos of the Altstadt. The building itself has this clean, modern feel – nothing fancy, but everything works properly (which, let’s face it, isn’t always a given with apartment-style stays).

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. I mean, someone clearly spent time thinking about what travelers actually need rather than just throwing together some IKEA furniture and calling it done. The kitchen had proper knives – not those dull things that can barely cut butter – and there were enough outlets near the bed for all your devices without having to unplug the lamp. Small stuff, but it adds up. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which mattered since I was working remotely for part of my stay. From the windows, you get these glimpses of typical German residential life – people heading to the local bakery in the morning, kids riding bikes after school. It’s real life, not a postcard, and honestly that’s refreshing.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the main action, but that’s actually perfect if you ask me. Unterrath has this quiet, lived-in quality where you can grab groceries at normal prices and find a decent döner spot without fighting through crowds of other visitors. The S-Bahn connections are pretty straightforward once you figure them out – I could get to the airport in about 20 minutes, which was clutch for my early morning flight. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, though I’d still recommend checking the street signs carefully because German parking rules are… well, they’re thorough. The 8.8 rating makes sense once you spend a night or two there. It’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails the fundamentals so well that you end up more comfortable than you expected. Plus, the value is genuinely good – you’re getting apartment space and amenities for what you’d pay for a cramped hotel room closer to the center.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Dusseldorf at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak autumn season when the city hosts numerous fashion shows and cultural festivals.

  The hostess is very nice, she met me and gave me the keys. The apartment is cozy, very clean and confortable. It has wifi, fridge, coffee mashine, little stove and the rest you might need. Very good location if you need to go to the airport next day. Quiet place in good neighborhood.
  
  What could be improved: The sheets a bit too small for my size and matrass was a bit soft for my liking, but thats just my preference. The rest is excellent.

  The booking price is good compared to the other hotels that are close to the airport. It was like 5 minutes by taxi. It's close, but I don't think it's walkable from the airport. The inside of the room had a mini living & kitchen area. The room is very clean, but there was no air-conditioning, so it was very hot when we stayed in July.
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit complicated to get to the room after booking. First, Booking.com didn't show the exact address in the email, and I couldn't get to their website without wifi or data. Thanks for having their phone number in the confirmation, so I called the property manager, and I was able to talk to her.
  When we got there in the night, we needed to find a bell name that corresponded to the unit, then she unlocked the front door. There was no elevator to 3rd floor, so it was a pain to lift heavy suitcases.

  Sehr sauberes und gut ausgestattetes Apartment, direkt am Flughafen. Die Bilder vermitteln einen guten und zutreffenden Eindruck des Zimmers.
  
  What could be improved: Im Sommer sehr warm und nur schwer zu kühlen, da die beiden Fenster direkt zum Flughafen blicken und der Fluglärm so laut ist, dass man die Fenster über Nacht nicht geöffnet lassen kann.
