Honestly, when I first pulled up to the Airport-Messe Apartments on Lohauser Dorfstraße, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the address screams “industrial area,” right? But you know what struck me immediately? How quiet it actually is for being so close to Düsseldorf Airport. Sure, you’ll catch the occasional plane overhead, but it’s more of a gentle whoosh than that constant roar you’d expect. The building itself sits in this surprisingly residential pocket of Lohausen that feels almost village-like, with those typical German row houses lining the street and actual locals walking their dogs in the evening.

The apartments themselves are what really won me over though. These aren’t your cookie-cutter hotel rooms – each one feels like someone actually lives there, with proper kitchens (not those sad mini-fridges and microwaves), decent-sized living areas, and windows that open wide enough to let in that crisp Rhineland air. The whole setup is perfect if you’re in town for the trade fairs – and let’s be honest, that’s probably why you’re considering this place. Messe Düsseldorf is literally a ten-minute drive away, maybe fifteen if you hit traffic during one of the big exhibitions. I stayed during a furniture fair once and the reception staff actually knew which halls were hosting what events. That kind of local knowledge makes a difference when you’re trying to navigate those massive exhibition centers.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between apartment privacy and hotel service. You’ve got your own space to spread out – crucial if you’re staying more than a couple nights – but housekeeping still comes through, and there’s someone at reception who can help you figure out the local transport system. Speaking of which, the S-Bahn connection into central Düsseldorf is easier than you’d think from here, though honestly, if you’re planning to explore the Altstadt or do serious shopping on Königsallee, you might want to factor in some travel time. But for business travelers or anyone who needs to be near the airport without actually staying in one of those sterile airport hotels, this place hits differently. The neighborhood has a couple of decent restaurants within walking distance – there’s this Italian place around the corner that locals seem to frequent – and you’re close enough to Kaiserswerth (about a five-minute drive) to grab dinner somewhere with actual atmosphere if you want to venture out.

  Очень близко к выставочному центру. Очень чисто. Отдельный дом. Сначала непривычно из-за пролетающих самолетов, но они не летают ночью, так что высыпались хорошо. Обязательно вернемся!
