The a&o chain knows what budget travelers need — a decent bed, reliable WiFi, and a private bathroom that actually works. The rooms are pretty straightforward, sort of modern-minimalist without trying too hard. You know what though? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.

The breakfast setup here is actually better than I expected for a budget hotel. They do a proper continental buffet with vegetarian options, which — let’s be honest — isn’t always a given at this price point. I found myself going back for seconds on the fresh bread and local cheeses. There’s also private parking available, which is huge if you’re driving in Düsseldorf (trust me, finding parking in the city center can be a nightmare).

This hotel has earned an 8.2 location score, and after staying here, I totally understand the appeal. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a solid, well-located base for exploring Düsseldorf.   What could be improved: About the property can’t say nothing negative, just had a room partner that was not really friendly, made a lot of noise but that’s expected when you stay at a Hostel and you share a room with other 3 people but the man was old, unfriendly and didn’t answer when me and the other guys said “Hello” so probably they should restrict the stay for specific ages. I’ve stayed at Hostels where just 18-50 years old are admitted.
