Honestly, when I first pulled up to Apartment H2 on Herborner Weg, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, Eller isn’t exactly the neighborhood most tourists write home about. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are tucked away in these quieter residential pockets of Düsseldorf, and this place actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The building itself has that clean, modern German efficiency thing going on, but it doesn’t feel sterile like some of these newer apartment hotels can. What really won me over was how thoughtfully everything’s been set up inside – the kitchenettes actually have decent-sized fridges (not those tiny hotel bar things), and there’s proper counter space where you can spread out if you’re staying for work or just want to grab groceries from the Rewe down the street instead of eating out every meal. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters more than people admit. I spent a few evenings working from the little dining area, and it felt comfortable rather than cramped – good lighting, quiet enough that you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway.

What struck me most was how well-connected this spot is, even though it feels residential and peaceful. You’re about a 15-minute S-Bahn ride to the Altstadt, but honestly, I found myself exploring Eller more than I expected. There’s this great Turkish bakery just a few blocks over that locals clearly frequent (always a good sign), and the whole area has this lived-in feel that’s refreshing after dealing with touristy hotel districts. Parking was straightforward – there’s a garage situation that actually works, unlike some places in the city center where you’re circling blocks hoping for a miracle. The staff handled check-in smoothly, though it’s more of a keycard-and-go situation rather than the full concierge experience, which suited me fine. I did notice the soundproofing between units is pretty good; never had issues with neighbors, even when I could tell the place was busy. The only minor thing – and this is really minor – is that the shower pressure could be a touch stronger, but the water gets properly hot and the bathroom setup is modern and clean. For what you’re paying, especially compared to the chain hotels closer to the Königsallee, it’s honestly great value for a 4-star experience that doesn’t feel corporate or cookie-cutter.

  This was the second time I stayed at H2. I chose it because it is near where my family lives. For some people the location might not be ideal but it worked for me. The host set up a second bed which was good. Beds were comfortable. Shower was excellent.

  everything about this apartment was excellent! it was really nice snd clean, and we are provided with everything we needed and more! the host was friendly and helpful.
