When I first walked into Apartment1, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — it sounds more like a tech startup than a place to stay. But you know what? Sometimes the most unassuming spots turn out to be gems. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Düsseldorf, and there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup. The building itself has that clean, modern German efficiency you’d hope for, and the entrance on Am Pflanzkamp feels surprisingly quiet for being so central.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in Eller — you’re basically getting the best of both worlds without the tourist trap pricing. I mean, you can walk to Düsseldorf’s old town in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close enough to the Rhine that evening strolls become a real option, not just something you read about in guidebooks. The Eller S-Bahn station is practically around the corner, which honestly saved me so much time getting to the airport. Plus, there’s this great local bakery just two blocks away that locals actually use — you’ll know it by the line of people grabbing coffee before work.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup really works here, especially if you’re traveling as a couple (which explains why so many pairs end up loving this place). You get a proper kitchen — not one of those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken coffee maker, but actual counter space and appliances that function. The room feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which can be exactly what you need after a long day of meetings or sightseeing. The windows are surprisingly large, and if you’re on the first floor like I was, you get these nice glimpses of the neighborhood without feeling like you’re living in a fishbowl.

Practical Details

Look, I’m not going to pretend this is some fancy resort with a spa and concierge service — it’s not trying to be that. What it does well is the basics: reliable WiFi, hot water that actually stays hot, and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The parking situation is straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will appreciate. I actually found myself using the kitchen more than I expected, partly because the nearby Rewe supermarket makes grocery runs pretty painless.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I get why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something nice about having your own space without the isolation of a typical hotel room. You can make coffee in your pajamas, store leftovers from that amazing schnitzel place down the street, and generally just… exist normally. The location keeps getting praise from recent guests, and honestly, they’re not wrong. You’re close enough to everything that matters in Düsseldorf, but far enough from the main tourist areas that you feel like you’re getting a glimpse of how people actually live here. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.

  Schöne saubere Wohnung mit allem ausgestattet was man erwarten kann.
  
  What could be improved: Rolläden waren teilweise nicht vorhanden und wenn vorhanden konnten nicht ganz geschlossen werden, so dass man es nicht ganz dunkel bekommen hat. WLAN war nicht verfügbar.

  Прекрасные апартаменты. Очень чисто, Аппартаменты наполнены множеством различных нужных мелочей для комфортного пребывания. Хозяин очень отзывчивый, помогает с решением любых вопросов. Рядом есть парк для прогулок. До центра Дюссельдорфа можно легко добраться общественным транспортом или на такси.

  Die Einrichtung ist sehr lieb und schön gestaltet. Mit einem Laufweg von ca 20Min bis zur S-Bahn ist die Lage top. Die Küche ist super!
