Look, when I first pulled up to the B&B Hotel Düsseldorf-Airport on Theodorstr., I’ll be honest – it’s not going to win any beauty contests. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when you’re dealing with early flights or late arrivals. The building sits in Rath, which is one of those practical Düsseldorf neighborhoods that doesn’t pretend to be anything fancy, and that actually works in the hotel’s favor.

What really surprised me was how quiet it actually gets at night, considering you’re this close to the airport. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional plane, but it’s not the constant roar you’d expect – honestly, the traffic on Theodorstr. was more noticeable during the day than the aircraft noise was at night. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a 2.5-star place, but here’s the thing – they’re clean, the beds are decent (I slept better than I thought I would), and the shower actually has good water pressure. The WiFi works properly too, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed.

The breakfast is pretty standard continental fare, nothing that’ll blow your mind, but the coffee’s strong and there’s enough variety to get you going. What I really appreciated was the staff – they’re genuinely helpful without being overly chatty, which is perfect when you’re dragging yourself around at 5 AM. Parking’s included, which saves you the headache of figuring out where to leave your car (trust me, that’s worth its weight in gold around here). The walk to the S-Bahn isn’t terrible if you need to get into the city center, though honestly, if you’re staying here you’re probably more focused on that airport connection anyway. It’s about a 15-minute taxi ride to the terminals, maybe 20 if traffic’s being difficult on the A44. The hotel does airport transfers too, though I just grabbed a cab. All in all, it does exactly what it says on the tin – gets you a decent night’s sleep near the airport without breaking the bank or making you feel like you’re roughing it.

  I stayed for 6 nights due to a work-related trip. Easy to use self check-in, clean and nicely sized room for one person for a decent price. Friendly staff from the little interaction I had. Quiet and calm area with a tram connection, doesn't take too long to get to the center of Dusseldorf or to the airport. Would book again, though if you want to be more connected to the city, there are closer options for a similar price.
  
  What could be improved: The location is a bit more remote and far away from everything than I expected if you don't have a car, but with train+tram it took about 30 minutes to get to from the airport. No kitchen or fridge in the room, which might make longer stays more difficult.

  Used the hotel as a night stay before the flight. Two adults and two kids. The accommodation is compact, comfortable clean, easily accessible and quiet. Bunk bad for kids. Doors are code locked. Ten minutes driving to the airport. There is close gas station to fill up the tank before rental car return.
  
  What could be improved: The only complain I have is not working air conditioning. That was not an issue for us, but may be on extreme weather.
