B&B Hotel Düsseldorf-Airport Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, B&B Hotel Düsseldorf-Airport isn’t trying to be something it’s not — and that’s exactly why it works so well. This two-and-a-half-star property sits on Theodorstraße in the Rath district, and while it might not have marble lobbies or champagne service, it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need. The building has that clean, modern European hotel aesthetic that’s become pretty standard for the B&B chain, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

You know what I really appreciate about this place? The location is genuinely practical without being stuck in some soulless business district. Düsseldorf Airport is close enough that you’re not dealing with expensive taxi rides or complicated public transport connections, but you’re also not hearing planes overhead all night. The Rath neighborhood might not be the city center, but it’s got that authentic residential feel that gives you a better sense of how locals actually live. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 8.6 out of 10, which honestly makes sense when you consider how easy it is to get around from here.

The Room Experience

The room setup is pretty much what you’d expect from a well-run budget hotel — clean lines, functional furniture, and everything you need without unnecessary frills. I mean, the beds are comfortable enough, and there’s decent storage space for your luggage. What impressed me most was how quiet everything felt, especially considering you’re not far from major transport links. The bathrooms are compact but efficiently designed, and honestly, the water pressure is better than some places charging twice as much.

Breakfast and Practical Perks

The breakfast situation here is actually pretty solid — they do both continental and buffet options, which gives you some flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing to catch a flight or have time to sit and plan your day. The coffee is decent (not amazing, but definitely drinkable), and there’s usually a good selection of local breads and pastries. What really sets this place apart though is the parking situation — having private parking at the hotel is honestly a huge relief when you’re dealing with rental cars or driving in an unfamiliar city.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll be posting Instagram stories about, but it’s the kind of place that makes travel less stressful. Recent guests have rated the location 8.3 out of 10, and I think that speaks to something important — sometimes the best hotel is the one that just gets out of your way and lets you focus on why you’re actually traveling. The staff seems to understand this too; they’re helpful without being overly chatty, and check-in is usually quick and efficient. For the price point, you’re getting solid value and a base that actually works for exploring Düsseldorf or catching early flights without the premium you’d pay for staying right in the airport or city center.

Reviews of B&B Hotel Düsseldorf-Airport

  • Neat and decent priced stay, slightly remote but near the airport – Eetu from Finland – 28 July 2025 (9/10)

I stayed for 6 nights due to a work-related trip. Easy to use self check-in, clean and nicely sized room for one person for a decent price. Friendly staff from the little interaction I had. Quiet and calm area with a tram connection, doesn't take too long to get to the center of Dusseldorf or to the airport. Would book again, though if you want to be more connected to the city, there are closer options for a similar price.

What could be improved: The location is a bit more remote and far away from everything than I expected if you don't have a car, but with train+tram it took about 30 minutes to get to from the airport. No kitchen or fridge in the room, which might make longer stays more difficult.

  • Very convenient for concert at PSD Bank Dome – Ursula from Austria – 29 June 2025 (8/10)

Great location next to PSD Bank Dome

  • A convenient affordable hotel offering good value for money. Excellent breakfast – Sally from Portugal – 26 November 2024 (9/10)

Its location next to the arena and tram way

What could be improved: Reception should be manned for longer

  • We had a good stay. – Anjelica from Netherlands – 22 July 2024 (8/10)

    Clean rooms
    Good beds
    Airco

What could be improved: Short of staff during breakfast time. A lot of empty plates/baskets. Staff willing to fill, but doing 3 things (reception, filling and dishwasher) at the same time.

  • Very good – Dimitry from Israel – 10 July 2024 (8/10)

Used the hotel as a night stay before the flight. Two adults and two kids. The accommodation is compact, comfortable clean, easily accessible and quiet. Bunk bad for kids. Doors are code locked. Ten minutes driving to the airport. There is close gas station to fill up the tank before rental car return.

What could be improved: The only complain I have is not working air conditioning. That was not an issue for us, but may be on extreme weather.

  • England Euro 24 trip – Franz from United Kingdom – 1 July 2024 (8/10)

Ideal for Airport and link into Dusseldorf

What could be improved: All good.

  • All simple and nice – Lukasgazi from Netherlands – 14 June 2024 (8/10)

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • excellent option if you want a budget hotel close to the tram station and airport – Lino from Australia – 24 April 2024 (8/10)

    Breakfast was excellent..

What could be improved: There were no people at the check in so it can feel weird when you use the machines
