Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about B&B HOTEL Düsseldorf-Mitte – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first walked up to the building on Kettwiger Straße, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 2-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes the ratings don’t tell the whole story.

The location is actually pretty clever – they’ve tucked this place right in Flingern-Süd, which I mean, isn’t exactly the postcard part of Düsseldorf, but that’s kind of the point. You’re close enough to walk to the Altstadt (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind the stroll), but you’re not paying those crazy city center prices. Plus, Flingern has this sort of up-and-coming artsy vibe that’s way more interesting than the touristy areas. There’s this great little bakery just around the corner that locals actually go to – not one of those overpriced tourist traps. The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a B&B chain, but done right. Clean, functional, with that modern minimalist thing going on. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower pressure is actually decent – which honestly matters more than fancy toiletries when you’ve been walking around all day. The soundproofing is pretty good too, considering you’re on a fairly busy street. I could hear some traffic during the day, but nothing that kept me up at night.

What really impressed me was the staff – they actually seem to care about what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given at budget hotels. Check-in was smooth, and when I asked about getting to the Rhine waterfront, the guy at the desk didn’t just point vaguely but actually drew me a little map showing the quieter route through the residential streets. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood (street parking mostly), but there’s a garage about two blocks away if you don’t mind paying a few extra euros. The breakfast is standard continental fare – nothing fancy, but the coffee’s decent and there’s enough variety to get you going. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to explore more of the local neighborhoods rather than just hitting the main tourist spots. For the price point, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, and in a city like Düsseldorf where hotel prices can get ridiculous, that’s worth quite a bit.

Hotels in Dusseldorf offer guests the perfect blend of German sophistication and modern comfort, with many featuring fashion concierge services and traditional Rhine brewery experiences to enhance the authentic German cultural experience.

Reviews

  • Superb – Alexandra from United Kingdom – 16 April 2025 (9/10)

Decent accommodation in the middle of Düsseldorf. Aldi, petrol station and everything in reach . It does have free parking spots in an underground car park but it's subject to availability

  • Great hotel for the money but avoid rooms overlooking main road for a better sleep – Dawn from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (8/10)

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean & bed comfortable

What could be improved: Room overlooked the main road and I was woken several times each night by the sirens of emergency vehicles going past.

  • Fine value for money – Valentina from Netherlands – 29 September 2024 (8/10)

The parking is very convenient, as well as access to the u-bahn and s-bahn.
Breakfast was cheap. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Rooms are accessible through a code. One of the locks malfunctioned, so we got a free upgrade without much fuss. Good customer service.

What could be improved: Vending machine doesn't accept card, which is a bit annoying when you want a midnight drink or snack.

  • Very good if you have a car – Ilhan from Bulgaria – 16 August 2024 (8/10)

The undergraund car garrage is big and free.

What could be improved: It is away from the city center. There is no one at the lobby during the night.

  • Very nice option to stay – Gemma from Germany – 2 August 2024 (9/10)

Everything was great. Very clean and spacious room. Double and comfy bed. Very nice and modern. Staff very nice too.

What could be improved: It was a bit far from the center but actually in my case with the tram I just had one stop to arrive there and come back to work.

  • Very good – Thorsten from United Kingdom – 8 June 2024 (8/10)

    Rooms super clean.
Reception staff unbelievable friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: Vending machine! Doesn’t accept cards and App did not work.

  • THANKS – Edgar from Netherlands – 3 January 2024 (8/10)

This is clearly one of the best, friendliest B und B hotels there is! Rooms are like. 'normal' hotels and not the cabins they are to me famous for. THANKS for having us.

What could be improved: One of the team members was not that particularly friendly after we checked out

  • Well situated hotel – Dennis from Netherlands – 27 December 2023 (9/10)

Free parking, card free entrance to the room and staffless check-in. There's also an underground across the street. Can get to town fast and easily.
