So here’s the thing about BHH Living Apartments – the name is honestly a mouthful, but once you get past that, this place actually delivers on what it promises. I mean, you’re right in Friedrichstadt, which is sort of this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to the Altstadt to walk there in about fifteen minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM.

The location on Corneliusstraße is pretty smart, actually. You’ve got this quiet residential vibe going on, but step out the door and there’s a decent bakery two blocks down (the kind where locals queue up on Saturday mornings), plus you’re walking distance to the Rhine promenade. What I really appreciated was how genuinely quiet it gets at night – and I’m someone who usually travels with earplugs because I’m paranoid about street noise. The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s well-maintained flat than a typical hotel room, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; there’s actually decent counter space and the appliances work properly, though I’ll warn you the coffee maker is pretty basic.

You know what struck me most? The little details that suggest someone actually thought about what travelers need. Like, there are enough power outlets near the bed (revolutionary concept, right?), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously cut out every hour. The bathroom has proper water pressure – not those sad dribbling showerheads you sometimes get in European city apartments. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, but there’s street parking if you’re patient, and honestly, you might not even need a car since the U-Bahn connections are solid. I stayed during a pretty busy conference week in Düsseldorf and never felt like I was fighting crowds just to get home, which says something about choosing Friedrichstadt over the more obvious tourist areas. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re living in Düsseldorf for a few days rather than just passing through, and for a 3-star spot, that 8.6 rating makes total sense once you settle in.

  The room was in a prime location in the city whilst also being tucked away from the main street so nights were very peaceful. It was very clean and exactly as shown in the pictures on the website.
  
  What could be improved: The bed was for the most part very comfortable but the pillow was very large and a little difficult to sleep with, I wouldn't say this negatively affected my stay.

  It was a clean and nice apartment. Guest will feel homely. In the kitchen, there were enough cutleries and equipment.
  
  What could be improved: There was no booking list for the Washing machine. Guest can plan the laundry with other users in the apartment, if booking list was available.

  A small, clean, well equipped and pleasant studio apartment. Adequate size for a couple, we stayed for 3 nights.The bed was comfortable. Even though it was in a busy area of the city, it was quiet. The tram was a short walk away, as was the train stop. We had breakfast in a couple of nearby cafés, about a 10 minute walk away and there's a bakery right next door. There were a few coffee capsules supplied and some basic staples in the cupboard, such as cooking oil. Really helpful. There's a table and chairs outside the apartment on the landing. which was a nice surprise. We were on the 2nd floor. Any contact with the staff was friendly and helpful. We needed some more toilet tissue and we just asked the nice cleaning staff, no trouble at all. The procedure for the key collection was very straightforward and a video is supplied to give you all the information you need. I really recommend staying here.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment did get very warm, because we were lucky enough to have some superb weather. The window opens, but it could also do with a fan or portable air conditioning unit for those times. But it didn't detract from a great trip. The very large square pillow wasn't very comfortable for me, I would have preferred a couple of smaller ones, but again, it wasn't a big deal.
