Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Chrisma? The moment I walked in, it felt like someone’s well-kept secret tucked away on this quiet residential street in Hamm. I mean, you’re literally on Auf der Böck – which honestly sounds more intimidating than it actually is – but it’s this peaceful little corner that most tourists never stumble across because they’re all rushing around the Altstadt.
The thing is, this isn’t your typical Düsseldorf hotel experience, and I actually mean that in the best way. It’s got that unpretentious 3-star vibe where you’re not paying for marble lobbies or doormen in fancy uniforms, but everything just… works. The staff genuinely seemed to care about whether I found the place okay (parking was surprisingly easy, by the way – something you definitely can’t say about most of Düsseldorf). My room had this clean, straightforward setup that reminded me why I sometimes prefer places like this over those oversized chain hotels where you need a map to find the ice machine. The bed was actually comfortable – not luxury hotel comfortable, but that solid, reliable kind where you wake up without a crick in your neck.
What really sold me on the location was how easy it became to hop on the S-Bahn. You’re close enough to get into the city center without dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window, but far enough that you get to see how actual Düsseldorfers live. I’d walk out in the morning and grab coffee from this little bakery down the street – nothing fancy, just proper German bread and the kind of strong coffee that makes you realize Starbucks is basically sugar water. The neighborhood gets quiet at night, which means you’ll actually sleep instead of listening to drunk people stumble past at 2 AM like you would near the Königsallee. Honestly, that 8.3 rating makes perfect sense when you think about it – it’s the kind of place that does exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Sure, you won’t have a concierge or room service, but you’ll have a clean, comfortable base in a city that can be pretty overwhelming if you stay right in the thick of everything. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Dusseldorf through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich fashion and cultural heritage.

Came for the euros and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and nicer. Was the perfect location, just far enough away from the city centre for a chilled vibe but with great transport links on our door step to get anywhere in Düsseldorf.
What could be improved: The breakfast was absolutely class, fresh and delicious. Definitely one of the best continental breakfasts I’ve had.Exceptional – Sanja from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 21 March 2023 (10/10)
Very nice hotel. Nice and friendly stuff. This is the second time in this hotel ,and we will probably back again.
Pleasant – Lucy from Australia – 12 October 2023 (6/10)
What could be improved: Bit noisy due to the main road being close by.
