Hotel Description
You know what’s funny about Favorite Stays on Hunsrückenstraße? I almost walked right past it the first time – it sits quietly on this narrow street in Altstadt, not trying to grab your attention like some flashy chain hotel. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical three-star place. The suites actually feel like suites, with proper living areas where you can spread out your stuff without tripping over the bed every five minutes.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Düsseldorf rather than just visiting it. Hunsrückenstraße might sound intimidating to pronounce, but it’s this lovely cobblestone street where you’ll hear more German than English – which I mean, isn’t that what you want when you’re traveling? You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Rhine promenade, and I discovered this amazing little bakery just around the corner that opens ridiculously early (perfect for jet lag mornings). The Old Town’s beer halls and that famous Longest Bar in the World thing are right there, but here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you – you can actually escape back to your quiet street when the Altbier crowds get too much around 11 PM.
What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I mentioned wanting to find a good spot for morning coffee that wasn’t touristy, the guy at reception drew me a little map to this place on Berger Straße that I never would have found otherwise. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious – I had this corner suite with windows on two sides, and you could hear the gentle hum of the city without feeling like you’re sleeping next to a construction site. The WiFi actually works (revolutionary concept, I know), and there’s this little kitchenette setup that’s genuinely useful if you pick up some of those amazing German pastries and want to have breakfast in. Check-in was smooth, no weird deposit holds on my credit card, and they let me store my luggage for hours after checkout while I wandered around one last time. It’s the kind of place that feels authentic without trying too hard – sort of like finding a great local restaurant that doesn’t need Michelin stars to prove it knows what it’s doing.

Fantastic place to visit Duesseldorf and for work for a week. – David from United Kingdom – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Perfect location in Duesseldorf altstadt, just a minute's walk from Heinrich-Heine-allee U-Bahn station.
Casita Mexicana restaurant on ground floor is very good value and food tastes great.

What could be improved: the pillowsVery good – Alberto from Italy – 26 May 2025 (8/10)
Great position in the pestonal area, very close to the metro station. Large room, also the bathroom is ok. Cleaning is ok.
I would come back
What could be improved: Weekend is noisy on the street, earplugs are necessary, the host provides them anyway.
One suggestion for the host: change pillows, they are too thin and softLocation is a plus, ample of eating & Drinking options. Kitchen is awesome. Overall stay awesome – Vivek from India – 1 May 2025 (9/10)
Location of the property is a plus for solo travellers. It is in the midde of downtown, bustling with tourists all the time. You will never feel alone. Prople are flocking the roads almos all night. There are ample of eating options and lot of good supermarkes if you want to buy something and cook. Kitchen is fully equipped and you can cook almost anything. Washing machine is also a benefit, just that you need to buy your own detergent.
What could be improved: Bed genuinely needs a back rest. Pillows are too incovenient. They almost disappear if you lay down on them. You cannot sit on the bed because there is nothing to rest against. My back started paining after 1st night.
Stairs are not convenient. climbing that high with luggage is a discomfort. There is no fan, no AC so you only rely on outside air for which you need to open windows. Since street is bustling with activities all night, it is extremely noisy. Hotels play loud music all night and you just can't get a sleep if you open the window.Very good – Dandouni from Egypt – 31 March 2025 (8/10)
It was just perfect location ideal for everything owner great cleaning perfect food transportation shopping work but the problem was the stairs very difficult
Perfectly located apartment! – Damian from Netherlands – 7 December 2024 (8/10)
Big area including kitchen, roof terrace, beautiful bedroom
What could be improved: Lot of noise from bars at nightVery convenient and effortless. – Shohei from Uganda – 28 November 2023 (8/10)
It’s located right in the middle of the busiest areas, which means everything you need, from train stations to restaurants, is within a close and walkable distance. Also, the host, Ben, was super helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: The above also means you will have to expect some noise coming from outside at night when you stay here. However, the host was kind enough to provide some ear plugs for guests.Very good – Ahmad from United Kingdom – 18 November 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: The bed should be wider.Good – Lapo from Italy – 9 October 2023 (7/10)
Big one room apartment, clean
What could be improved: Too noisy, directly in front of a clubVery good – Boris from Croatia – 22 March 2023 (8/10)
Seems like a recently renovated apartment. Spacious, clean, fairly equipped. Wifi was very good. The location is right in the center, everything is around, U-station, shops, walking area, historical area.
What could be improved: However, take in consideration that the apartment(s) are in the same building, just above a Mexican restaurant, in a small street packed with bars, terraces…in the evening (till late night on weekends) rather noisy (a good thing is that the windows stops a lot of this noise but forget on taking fresh air from outside). Also, in the morning – waking up early with cleaning, waste, and delivery trucks). Sometimes, it will be necessary to move restaurant's guests sitting just in front of the entrance of the place. Taking the apartment on the first floor could be even noisier. During the fair time, it was by far too expensive.
