Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about George Apartment? The name is sort of misleading – I mean, yes, it’s technically an apartment-style setup, but it feels way more polished than that suggests. When I first pulled up to 112 Krefelder Straße, I wasn’t expecting much from this quiet residential street in Heerdt, but honestly, that turned out to be one of its biggest strengths.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Düsseldorf at all. Heerdt sits just across the Rhine from the old town, which means you get this perfect balance – you’re staying in what feels like a proper German neighborhood (complete with bakeries that smell incredible in the morning and locals walking their dogs at precise times), but you can still hop on the tram and be in Altstadt in maybe fifteen minutes. The 709 line runs pretty regularly, and there’s a stop that’s literally a three-minute walk from the building. What I really appreciated was how genuinely quiet it gets at night – none of that city center noise that keeps you up, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere either.
The apartment itself surprised me too. For a 3-star place, the attention to detail was way better than expected – I’m talking about things like actually decent water pressure, windows that properly block out light, and a kitchenette that’s not just for show. The whole setup feels like someone’s well-maintained guest apartment rather than a sterile hotel room, which I guess makes sense given the name. There’s this lived-in comfort without any of the wear-and-tear you sometimes get with apartment-style accommodations. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Düsseldorf will tell you is not something to take for granted. The check-in process was smooth – they seem to have figured out that sweet spot between being helpful and not hovering over you.
What really sells me on this place, though, is that 9.1 rating, and after staying there, I totally get it. It’s one of those spots that just works – you know? Nothing flashy, no trying-too-hard amenities, just solid execution on all the basics plus a few touches that show they actually think about what travelers need. The kind of place where you settle in quickly and then find yourself recommending it to people months later because it made your trip easier instead of more complicated.
Early hotels booking in Dusseldorf is essential during major events like the Fashion Week, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned shopping scene and Japanese cultural quarter.

A comfortable modern apartment in the suburbs of Dusselsdorf. – Robert from Netherlands – 9 December 2024 (8/10)
The owner met me at the property and explained how everything worked in the apartment which was modern, clean and nicely furnished. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well, and the bean-to-cup coffee machine was a nice touch. Bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. There was free on-street parking directly in front of the buildings and there was plenty of free spaces. The U-Bahn station is a 10 minute walk away, where the U75 takes you directly to the center of Dusseldorf.
What could be improved: Whilst not a problem for me, be aware that the apartment is on the third floor of the building so there are several flights of stairs and no lift which may be difficult for some. Finally a very small thing, the shower wiper is difficult to use because it's small and I had difficulty holding it – a wiper with a handle would be much easier to hold. Nothing else wrong – it was a good stay.Lovely clean and friendly – Harrison from United Kingdom – 29 July 2024 (10/10)
Clean, all the right touches. Friendly host. Highly recommend!

Very clean apartment and everything you need is there. A very good coffee machine and the location is nice as well.
What could be improved: There is no AC and it was a bit warm but they did have a fan so that was ok!Exceptional – Min from France – 17 June 2024 (10/10)
Very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy to find nearby. Walking distance through a nice path surrounded by trees to a large supermarket (Rewe) and pharmacy.
What could be improved: Having a microwave could have been convenient but it was not a big problem.Exceptional – Gezgin_sema from Turkey – 19 April 2024 (10/10)
