George Apartment Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to George Apartment on Krefelder Straße, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a quiet residential building. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention. This four-star property sits in Heerdt, which is technically outside central Düsseldorf, but that’s actually part of its charm. The whole setup feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a typical hotel, and there’s something refreshing about that approach.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Heerdt is one of those districts that locals know about but tourists often miss — and honestly, that works in your favor here. You’re far enough from the city center to avoid the crowds and noise, but close enough that getting into Düsseldorf proper is no big deal. The area has this authentic German residential feel, with tree-lined streets and the kind of bakeries where you can actually practice your German without feeling rushed. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.2 out of 10, so there’s definitely something special about this spot that people are picking up on.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup is where this place really shines. You get a proper living space rather than just a cramped hotel room, and the kitchen is actually functional — not one of those token kitchenettes with a broken coffee maker. I found myself cooking breakfast a couple of mornings, which saved money and felt surprisingly normal after days of eating out. The whole place has been thoughtfully designed, with modern touches that don’t feel cold or sterile. Recent guests have been rating it 8.7 for location quality, and after spending time there, I get why.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll make your life easier — free parking right on site. If you’ve ever tried to park in central Düsseldorf, you’ll know this is basically gold. No circling blocks looking for a spot, no feeding meters every two hours, just pull up and you’re done. The whole check-in process is straightforward too, though it’s worth noting this feels more like a serviced apartment than a full-service hotel. Don’t expect a concierge or room service, but honestly, the independence is part of the appeal.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 overall rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and I think it comes down to authenticity. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or fancy restaurant scenes — you’re getting a genuinely comfortable base in a real German neighborhood. The value proposition is solid, especially when you factor in the money you’ll save on parking and the option to cook some meals. It’s particularly great for couples who want to experience Düsseldorf without being right in the thick of tourist central. Sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you step slightly off the beaten path, and George Apartment gives you that opportunity without sacrificing comfort or convenience.
Early hotels booking in Dusseldorf is essential during major events like the Fashion Week, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned shopping scene and Japanese cultural quarter.

Reviews of George Apartment
A comfortable modern apartment in the suburbs of Dusselsdorf. – Robert from Netherlands – 9 December 2024 (8/10)
The owner met me at the property and explained how everything worked in the apartment which was modern, clean and nicely furnished. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well, and the bean-to-cup coffee machine was a nice touch. Bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. There was free on-street parking directly in front of the buildings and there was plenty of free spaces. The U-Bahn station is a 10 minute walk away, where the U75 takes you directly to the center of Dusseldorf.
What could be improved: Whilst not a problem for me, be aware that the apartment is on the third floor of the building so there are several flights of stairs and no lift which may be difficult for some. Finally a very small thing, the shower wiper is difficult to use because it's small and I had difficulty holding it – a wiper with a handle would be much easier to hold. Nothing else wrong – it was a good stay.Lovely clean and friendly – Harrison from United Kingdom – 29 July 2024 (10/10)
Clean, all the right touches. Friendly host. Highly recommend!
Amazing stay – Demi from Netherlands – 21 July 2024 (10/10)
Very clean apartment and everything you need is there. A very good coffee machine and the location is nice as well.
What could be improved: There is no AC and it was a bit warm but they did have a fan so that was ok!Exceptional – Min from France – 17 June 2024 (10/10)
Very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy to find nearby. Walking distance through a nice path surrounded by trees to a large supermarket (Rewe) and pharmacy.
What could be improved: Having a microwave could have been convenient but it was not a big problem.Exceptional – Gezgin_sema from Turkey – 19 April 2024 (10/10)
