Hampton by Hilton Düsseldorf City Centre Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hampton by Hilton Düsseldorf City Centre, you immediately get that “this is going to work out just fine” feeling. It’s one of those three-star hotels that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it just does everything really well. The lobby has that clean, modern Hampton vibe you’d expect, but what struck me was how the staff genuinely seemed happy to help rather than just going through the motions.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in Stadtmitte — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Düsseldorf. From Harkortstrasse, you can walk to the Altstadt (the old town with all those breweries) in about ten minutes, and the shopping on Königsallee is just as close. I mean, couples rate this location 8.8 out of 10, and honestly, I get it. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. The Rhine promenade is an easy stroll away too, which is perfect for those evening walks after too much Altbier.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want from Hampton — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was genuinely good (not just “hotel good”), and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which you know matters more than you think it will. What I appreciated was the workspace setup — if you need to get some work done, there’s actually proper lighting and enough outlets. The soundproofing works well too, considering you’re right in the city center.

Breakfast Worth Getting Up For

Okay, so the breakfast situation here is actually impressive. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of — continental, vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, American style. I watched them accommodate a family with multiple food restrictions without any drama whatsoever. The coffee is solid (not amazing, but definitely drinkable), and they keep everything well-stocked even during the busy morning rush. Pro tip: the scrambled eggs are better than they have any right to be at a mid-range hotel.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how they handle the details that matter to actual travelers. Parking is available right at the hotel, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central Düsseldorf, you’ll know is worth its weight in gold. The location score of 8.9 isn’t just a number — it reflects how easy this place makes exploring the city. You’re not stuck in some business district wondering where the real Düsseldorf is, and you’re not in a tourist trap area either. It’s that perfect middle ground where you feel like you’re staying where locals would actually want to be.

  • We only had an overnight after Spa Grand Prix. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were very nice – Susan from Ireland – 4 August 2025 (9/10)

Proximity to train station. Easy access to city centre. Spotless

  • Good hotel – Viktoriia from Ukraine – 3 August 2025 (9/10)

Hello, Good location near the station, very clean, comfortable, good breakfast. The room is very good for this price. Additionally, there is an iron and ironing board, which is very important when you travel, especially in the warm season. You can hardly find this in hotels (or you have to pay extra). I really liked the calm interior of the room.

  • Recommended to stay here! – Farah from Netherlands – 2 August 2025 (9/10)

Located in the city centre. This is really point plus for me and my mom! Tasty breakfast with variety of western menu. Clean and comfy room!

What could be improved: It would be great if Asian menu also be included in the breakfast menu. So it’s not only for Western. But it’s fine, all is good! 😊
