Hotel Description

You know what really surprised me about the Holiday Inn on Toulouser Allee? It actually feels like they put some thought into this place beyond just slapping the brand name on a generic business hotel. I mean, sure, it’s still a Holiday Inn – but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try to be fancier than it is while still getting the important stuff right.

The location is honestly pretty smart if you know Düsseldorf at all. Pempelfort isn’t exactly the touristy Altstadt area, but that’s kind of the point – you’re in this quiet residential neighborhood that feels authentically local, yet you can still walk to the Rhine in about fifteen minutes or catch the U-Bahn at Nordstraße without any hassle. I actually enjoyed the evening strolls through the tree-lined streets around there, especially compared to the chaos you get staying right in the city center. The rooms have this clean, unfussy vibe that I appreciated after dealing with some overly designed boutique places that prioritize Instagram moments over, well, actually being comfortable. Everything worked properly (and believe me, that’s not always a given), the beds were legitimately good, and the windows actually blocked out street noise – which matters more than you’d think on Toulouser Allee since it can get a bit busy during rush hours.

What really sealed the deal for me was the staff’s approach to service. They’re helpful without being overly chatty, and they seem to actually know the neighborhood – when I asked about finding a decent bakery for morning coffee, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the hotel breakfast but recommended this little German place two blocks over that locals actually use. The breakfast itself was solid Holiday Inn fare, nothing revolutionary but plenty of options and decent coffee. Honestly, for business travelers or anyone who wants a reliable base without paying premium prices for location, this place hits that sweet spot. You’re getting 4-star comfort without the 4-star attitude, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to explore a city like Düsseldorf without breaking the bank or dealing with the pretentious vibes you sometimes get at more centrally located hotels.

Reviews

  • Almost wonderful – Huizhong from Netherlands – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

Location is easy to reach after exiting the highway. Hotel rooms and facilities are well maintained, super clean, the staff are friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: The air conditioning in room doesn’t work well.

  • Overall is very satisfied. – Puree from Thailand – 28 April 2025 (9/10)

Room is big & very clean and new.

Location is not too far from the Centrum. just walk about 20 minute (1.6 km)

What could be improved: All good

  • Would definitely recommend to stay. Very nice hotel for a reasonable price! Loved the comfy beds and the cleanliness – Natascha from Ireland – 20 April 2025 (9/10)

Such a good value for price. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and it has nice facilities like gym and a little shop for snacks and drinks at the reception.

What could be improved: I would have loved to see some
healthier options at breakfast (e.g oat milk, not as sugary juices etc) but overall the breakfast buffet was still very good!

  • Very good – Dirk from Germany – 20 December 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: The wifi connection was very poor on our room
Most of the time we couldn’t even keep the weak connection for a minute

  • Excellent, clean, great breakfast, professional staff – Ed from United States – 18 November 2024 (9/10)

The breakfast staff was so good. They work hard. The front desk staff (Jennifer) is lovely. She gave us a battery. The manager helped us out with checkout. We had to leave one day early for a flight in Frankfurt, and she charged us for the taxes, etc., but not the room. I would stay there again.

  • I will come again. The restaurant staff are superb. Location is quiet and still a walking distance from the shops and ce – Randa from Egypt – 4 November 2024 (9/10)

The place is super clean…. The staff are amazing… the facility is modern. The breakfast was delicious with alot of variety.

What could be improved: The room service left the dirty mugs without replacing them…

  • Very good – Oytun from Turkey – 29 July 2024 (8/10)

The hotel is located close to the airport yet also at a walking distance to the city center. The rooms are quite large. The breakfast buffet is very rich. The personnel was very friendly.

What could be improved: We ordered dinner to our room, but we were asked to come down and pick up our food due to lack of staff.

  • Very good – Christopher from United Kingdom – 22 July 2024 (9/10)

Clean, location, public transport links, good price, bars

What could be improved: Staff we’re occasionally a bit vague. Not a big problem, but room for improvement.

  • Nice staff, good breakfast – Karen from Germany – 30 June 2024 (9/10)

All of the staff were super helpful and nice. The room was spotless and the breakfast had a good variety of choices.
We had a room with a garden view, more of an inner courtyard, so it was nice and quiet. I did hear that the rooms facing the railway are a fair bit louder. Just so people know.

What could be improved: It is quite a pricey hotel, for what it is. Though admittedly we were there during a convention and a big football game, so I think prices were adjusted accordingly.

  • Superb – Hamit from United Kingdom – 26 June 2024 (9/10)

    Very friendly Staff
