Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Kaiserswerth? It’s tucked away in this incredibly charming historic district that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. I mean, you’re staying in Kaiserswerth, which feels like a proper German village that just happens to be part of Düsseldorf. The hotel sits on Arnheimer Straße, and while that might not mean much if you’re not familiar with the area, it’s actually this lovely tree-lined street where you can walk to the Rhine in about five minutes. The building itself has that solid, unpretentious German feel – three stars, sure, but it’s earned that 8.6 rating because they clearly know what they’re doing.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually live in the area. They didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots downtown (though the tram connection is ridiculously easy if you want that). Instead, they told me about the weekend farmers market right around the corner and this little bakery where locals grab their morning coffee. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that no-nonsense way – nothing fancy, but the beds are proper German firm, the heating actually works, and you won’t hear your neighbors through the walls. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will tell you is worth its weight in gold. I stayed during a quieter weekday period, so I can’t speak to how busy it gets, but the whole neighborhood has this peaceful, residential vibe that makes you want to slow down a bit.
Here’s the thing about staying in Kaiserswerth instead of central Düsseldorf – you’re getting a completely different experience, and it’s one that actually feels more authentically German. You can walk along the Rhine promenade without fighting crowds, explore the ruins of the old imperial palace (which barely anyone knows about), and still be in the city center in maybe 20 minutes by public transport. The hotel feels like it belongs in this setting perfectly. It’s not trying to be boutique or luxury – it’s just solid, reliable, and run by people who care about getting the details right. If you’re the type of traveler who’d rather discover a neighborhood than just crash somewhere convenient to the airport, this place makes a lot of sense. Plus, honestly, you’ll probably save money compared to staying downtown, and you might actually enjoy Düsseldorf more because of it.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Dusseldorf at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak autumn season when the city hosts numerous fashion shows and cultural festivals.

I always enjoy my short stays in Hotel Kaiserswerth. Staff is very welcoming, beds a comfortable and it is convenient to get into town. And Kaiserswerth is always beautiful.

This is a very nice, clean hotel in a great location in Kaiserwerth. It is close to transportation in Klemensviertel.
The family who own this hotel went above and beyond expectations. They helped us with access to our room when we arrived after hours. They also accommodated our needs of leaving early when a local strike challenged our travel plans. Thank you for the great stay!Superb – Jonjonflgncio from Singapore – 17 December 2024 (9/10)

It was clean and had all the basic things you may need
What could be improved: It still works with keys, for the room and main entrance. Just stairs, if you come with big luggage it could be really hard. The tv is old, it does not allow to cast from the mobile.Good – Stanislav from Lithuania – 23 May 2023 (8/10)
