Here’s what I love about staying in Lohausen — you’re close enough to the airport that you won’t stress about early flights, but far enough that you don’t hear planes constantly. The three-star rating might seem modest, but the location scores speak for themselves, especially if you’re traveling as a couple. I mean, there’s something romantic about being slightly removed from the city center bustle. Plus, and this is huge, there’s parking that won’t cost you an arm and a leg — actually, it’s completely free, which is practically unheard of in this part of Germany.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run German hotel — clean, functional, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing groundbreaking, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The beds are proper firm (the way Germans like them), and the windows actually open, which might sound silly but it’s refreshing when so many hotels seal you in with recycled air. The decor leans traditional without feeling dated, sort of like staying at a friend’s well-maintained family home.

The breakfast buffet here is honestly one of those pleasant surprises that makes your morning. They’ve got the German essentials covered — proper bread, good cold cuts, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday. It’s not elaborate, but everything’s fresh and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. The restaurant area has this cozy, unhurried vibe where you can actually sit and plan your day without feeling rushed.

What really sets this place apart is how it handles the basics exceptionally well — recent guests consistently rate it highly, and after staying here, I get why. It’s the kind of hotel that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but excels at being exactly what it promises.
