Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of four-star places that talk a big game but Hotel Windsor actually delivers on that 8.9 rating – and honestly, I get why people keep coming back. When you first walk in, there’s this understated elegance that doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard, you know? The lobby has these gorgeous original hardwood floors that creak just slightly when you walk across them (in a charming way, not an “this place is falling apart” way), and the front desk staff actually remembered my name by day two, which almost never happens anymore.
What really got me was how they handle the little things that can make or break a stay. The rooms are genuinely spacious – I mean, I could actually open my suitcase without having to climb over the bed – and they’ve got these thick curtains that block out street noise completely. I’m someone who usually needs earplugs in the city, but I slept like a baby here. The bathroom situation is solid too, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent water pressure. And here’s something you don’t always think about until you need it: they’ve got plenty of outlets near the bed, so you’re not doing yoga poses trying to charge your phone overnight. The WiFi was fast enough that I could actually get work done in the lobby without wanting to throw my laptop out the window.
The location is pretty sweet too – you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the main tourist chaos. I walked to three different coffee shops within five minutes (the one on the corner does this incredible almond croissant, by the way), and there’s a little grocery store right across the street that saved me when I needed snacks at weird hours. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but the valet guys know all the tricks and they’re not charging you an arm and a leg for it. I stayed during what I thought was going to be a busy weekend, but the hotel never felt crowded or loud – they seem to have figured out that sweet spot of being lively without being chaotic. The only minor thing I’d mention is that housekeeping comes pretty early (like 9 AM early), so if you’re planning to sleep in, you might want to put that “do not disturb” sign out. But honestly? That’s such a small thing when everything else works so well. This is the kind of place where you feel like you’re getting good value without any nasty surprises, and I’d definitely book it again.
