Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Kaiserswerth on Kaiserswerther Straße, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in Golzheim. But you know what? Sometimes those modest expectations work in your favor. The hotel sits in this quiet residential stretch that feels refreshingly removed from Düsseldorf’s tourist madness, yet you’re actually just a short tram ride from the Altstadt and all that. The building itself has that understated German efficiency thing going on – clean lines, no-nonsense design, the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard but gets the job done.
What really struck me was how the staff seemed to actually care about the details without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth (they spoke decent English, which honestly saved me from embarrassing myself with my terrible German), and the front desk guy pointed out a couple of local spots that weren’t in any guidebook I’d seen. The rooms are what you’d expect for the price point – not fancy, but thoughtfully laid out with good lighting and surprisingly comfortable beds. I mean, I’ve stayed in supposedly higher-end places where the mattress felt like concrete, so that was a pleasant surprise. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with those rainfall showerheads that Europeans seem to love. One thing I appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Golzheim isn’t exactly party central, and the double-glazed windows do their job well.
The location really grows on you once you figure out the neighborhood rhythm. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks down where locals grab their morning coffee (way better than hotel coffee, obviously), and you’re close enough to the Rhine that morning walks become this unexpectedly peaceful routine. The U-Bahn connection at Heinrich-Heine-Allee is maybe ten minutes away, which puts you anywhere in the city pretty quickly. Parking was easier than I expected – there’s street parking that doesn’t cost a fortune, unlike some areas closer to the center where you’ll pay through the nose. I stayed here during a business trip in October, and while the hotel was fairly full, it never felt crowded or chaotic. The breakfast spread was pretty standard Continental fare, nothing revolutionary but fresh enough and with good coffee. Overall, the Kaiserswerth delivers exactly what it promises – a solid, unpretentious base for exploring Düsseldorf without the tourist markup. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, keep looking, but if you want a reliable place that won’t blow your budget and puts you in a genuinely livable part of the city, this works really well.

Pleasant, with some small issues – Lotus from Netherlands – 8 July 2023 (7/10)
Good value for money. We stayed with 7 people and had a good time. The apartment was very spacey, with two different bedrooms and beds in the living room. Everything was very clean. All facilities worked and a nice bonus was the two fans, which were very helpful in the summer heat. We had some issues, but the contact people were very helpful and friendly and helped us solve said issues. There is only one shower, but that was no issue for our group. The location was very nice, near multiple tram and metro stops. In general, we had a pleasant stay and would return.
What could be improved: There were some issues with arrival. I did not receive the code in time and there was also no key in the keybox. However, after some phone calls, a very friendly man arrived to hand us a key. The check-in could have been better, but they were very friendly and helpful.
We also received too little towels, but again, after messaging the contact people, they brought us more. There was also little toilet paper and no towels for doing the dishes, so be sure to get/bring those yourself (we got some in the supermarket).
Lastly the shower seems to have some issues; it doesn’t stay on one temperature and gets very cold easily. This is something I’d recommend the accommodation to look at. Moreover, because there’s no border between the shower and the bathroom, the bathroom gets wet very easily. Perhaps installing a small border on the ground or providing extra towels/a squeeguee to help clean up would be useful.Large comfortable apartment. – Tim from United Kingdom – 23 June 2023 (7/10)
Perfect for 2 people – ensuite bathroom, large rooms, clean, quiet and in a pleasant area of Dusseldorf. All appliances fully operational. A really nice touch was to have portable fans in the bedrooms.
The pictures on booking.com do not do it justice.
What could be improved: Not suitable for more than 2 people (couple). The second bedroom doesn't have a seperate shower or bath so anyone staying there would have to use the ensuite from the other bedroom. However there is an additional sink and toilet.
The shower is very powerful but just about manageable if you spend some time getting the right pressure and temperature. This would put some people off if you just want to have a wash without soaking the whole bathroom. I recommend the owners sort this out!
Description says bidet – no bidet
Description says 2 bathrooms – only one and one shower. No bath. Difficult if 7 people staying!Exceptional – Yu from China – 19 May 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: 1st day no toilet paper, no hair dryer, no toaster, no dish detergent, no wash detergents, no shampoo…
The shower room is disaster really. The show curtain is not working, the water flow everywhere in the washroom, you have to mop the floor after take shower.
2nd the stove was not working.Very good – Petra from Germany – 17 June 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Keine Möglichkeiten zum aufhängen der Handtücher
Düsseldorf ist eine schöne und freundliche Stadt. – René from Germany – 24 May 2024 (6/10)
Die Lage ist sehr gut.
What could be improved: Es gibt fast keine Parkplätze. Der Stubentisch ist sehr wackelig. Die Betten quietschen und knarren. Der Fernseher hat keine Fernbedienung. Die Schlüsselbox ist unhygienisch. Die Küche ist mager ausgestattet. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig.Superb – Zvart from Germany – 10 January 2024 (9/10)
Tutto perfetto 👌
What could be improved: —Nicht empfehlenswert – Michaela from Germany – 27 August 2024 (3/10)
Waschmaschine, 2Badezimmer
