Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “luxury apartment” in the name, I was expecting something a bit more upscale than what you actually get here. But you know what? Sometimes being pleasantly surprised works in a place’s favor. This spot on Kaiserstraße sits right in Pempelfort, which is honestly one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists haven’t completely discovered yet. You’re basically a ten-minute walk from the Altstadt (that’s the old town for anyone keeping track), but without all the noise and crowds that come with staying right in the thick of things.

The building itself has that classic German apartment feel – solid, no-nonsense, the kind of place where you can actually hear your neighbors if they’re being loud, but most of the time it’s surprisingly quiet. I mean, Kaiserstraße can get a bit busy during rush hour, but by evening it settles down nicely. The apartments are clean and functional rather than Instagram-worthy, which honestly works for me. You’ve got proper kitchen facilities (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and windows that open – something you don’t always get in hotel rooms. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a hotel, which some people love and others find a bit impersonal.

What really sells this place is the location, though I hate using that word because everyone says it. But seriously – you can walk to Königsallee for shopping (if you’ve got money to burn), hit up the Japanese quarter for some of the best ramen outside of Tokyo, or just wander down to the Rhine for a proper stroll. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks away that opens early, and if you need groceries, there’s a Rewe within walking distance that stays open until 10 PM most nights. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare if you’re driving – this is city center Germany, after all – but the public transport connections are solid. The U-Bahn stop isn’t exactly around the corner, but it’s close enough that you won’t be cursing your luggage on the walk over. For what you pay, especially compared to the bigger hotels closer to the Hauptbahnhof, it’s actually pretty reasonable. Just don’t expect anyone to carry your bags or bring you fresh towels every day – this is more of a “figure it out yourself” kind of place, but in a good way.

Visitors often choose Dusseldorf apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Rhine metropolis.

Reviews

  • This was a great find at a modest price close to anything we needed. – Detlef from Canada – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

The apartment allowed us to each have our own bedroom! Very comfortable and quiet, it appeared to be recently renovated. It was within walking distance to Edeka, Aldi, Rewe for groceries, and a really nice bakery was across the street. The host was cheerful and helpful. The kitchen had everything we needed. To get to and from Düsseldorf main train station, we used the subway which had entrances right outside the door. We chose to stay in Düsseldorf because anything in and around Cologne was too expensive.

What could be improved: No complaints at all. We had a pleasant stay.

  • Good – Dieu from Germany – 17 June 2025 (7/10)

What could be improved: There is no washing machine as described
The laminate is very old, which made lot of nosie when stepping on
