The whole MedienHafen transformation has turned what used to be working docks into this sleek mix of modern architecture and waterfront dining that actually works.

The apartments themselves feel more like temporary homes than hotel rooms, which is exactly what you want when you’re staying longer than a weekend. I’m talking full kitchens with decent appliances (not those sad mini-fridges), proper living spaces where you can actually spread out, and – this matters more than you’d think – windows that open properly for fresh air off the Rhine. The building sits right where the old shipping infrastructure meets the new media district, so you’ve got Frank Gehry’s twisted towers practically next door and the Rhine promenade maybe a three-minute walk away. Parking’s sorted with their garage, which saves you the headache of circling the harbor streets looking for a spot.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve nailed the practical stuff without making it feel corporate. Check-in is straightforward, the Wi-Fi actually works for video calls (tested extensively), and the soundproofing keeps the harbor activity from bleeding through at night. You’re close enough to walk to Schloss Benrath if you’re into baroque architecture, but also fifteen minutes to the Altstadt when you want that classic Düsseldorf brewery experience. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything just… works. The kind of spot where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like more effort than it should.

  Very nice and clean, small and cosy apartment within walking distance of the old city. The garage and the parking space is very conveniently located close to the elevator. The apartment has everything you will need, and even more, like for example a great view over the river.

  The location was great, I love architecture and this apt is in the middle of an area with incredible buidings. cross the bridge and reach another area full of nice restaurant and walk around the Rhine river.
