When you first walk up to Gottfried-Keller-Str. 32A (it’s on the first floor, by the way), you’re in this quiet residential pocket of Stockum that feels refreshingly removed from the city chaos, but here’s the thing – you’re still ridiculously close to everything that matters.

The whole setup feels like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. I mean, these aren’t your typical sterile hotel rooms with that weird carpet smell. The apartments have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake, with actual kitchen space where you can brew proper coffee in the morning instead of those sad little hotel packets. You know what I love about this place? The light – hence the “Sunny Side” name, I guess – streams in during morning hours and makes the whole space feel bigger than it actually is. The neighborhood itself is one of those gems that locals know about but tourists often miss. You’ve got the Rhine just a short walk away, and if you’re here during trade fair season (which, let’s be honest, half of Düsseldorf visitors are), you’re positioned perfectly without being stuck in the overpriced Messe district hotels where you’re paying premium for location alone.

What really won me over was the attention to small stuff that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. Proper hangers in the closets, decent water pressure, windows that actually open for fresh air – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward lobby hovering while they “prepare your room.” Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (welcome to Düsseldorf, honestly), but the street parking situation is manageable if you know the local rhythm. Evenings are beautifully quiet here – you’ll hear neighbors coming home, maybe some distant traffic, but nothing that’ll keep you up. I stayed during both a busy trade period and a quieter weekend, and the vibe shifts nicely with the city’s pace without losing that residential calm. If you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from Altstadt bars, this might feel a bit removed, but there’s something to be said for ending your day somewhere that feels like an actual neighborhood rather than tourist central.

  Clean , quiet and comfortable . Perfect for Messe but also if you visit the city , downtown is just 15 min using Ubahn (stop is just 5 min walking ). Suzanne takes care about lot of details ( water , tea ….) and you may also find anything needed like iron , kitchen supplies …

  Die zentrale Lage war optimal für einen Konzertbesuch, da nicht weit zur Merkur Spiel-Arena. Die Arena / Messe ist per U-Bahn in 2 Haltestellen zu erreichen oder per kurzen Spaziergang (nach dem Konzert schneller als warten an der U-Bahn!). U-Bahnhaltestelle gleich ums Eck bei der Unterkunft und Anbindung mit U-Bahn zur Innenstadt / Altstadt und auch zum Hauptbahnhof ohne Umsteigen möglich und top! Unterkunft sauber, mit vielen kleinen Annehmlichkeiten wie Tee, Kaffe und Wasser kostenfrei. Mit liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und in einer ruhigen, schönen Wohngegend. Die Begrüßung durch die Mutter der Vermieterin bei Ankunft auch sehr herzlich. Vielen lieben Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!
