You know what struck me first about Messezimmer 4u? The name itself tells you exactly what this place is about – no pretense, just honest accommodation for people who need to be near Düsseldorf’s trade fair grounds. And honestly, that straightforward approach pretty much sums up the whole experience.

I’ll be real with you – Stockum isn’t exactly the postcard part of Düsseldorf. It’s more residential, kind of quiet, with that distinctly German suburban feel where everything’s orderly and practical. But here’s the thing: if you’re heading to Messe Düsseldorf (and let’s face it, that’s probably why you’re looking at this place), you’re actually in a pretty sweet spot. The trade fair is literally a short walk away, which means you can roll out of bed and be at your booth setup without dealing with the nightmare that is trade fair traffic. I mean, anyone who’s tried to get to those halls during a big expo knows what I’m talking about.

The hotel itself sits on Nordparksiedlung, which sounds fancier than it is – it’s basically a residential street that’s surprisingly peaceful for being so close to a major exhibition center. The building has that efficient, no-nonsense German aesthetic, and the rooms actually deliver on what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Nothing’s going to blow your mind, but everything works, it’s clean, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable (important when you’re spending long days on concrete exhibition floors). What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep things quiet despite being in what can be a pretty hectic area during major trade shows. The windows are decent, and you’re not dealing with constant street noise or the rumble of delivery trucks at 5 AM – well, mostly not.

Parking is straightforward, which is honestly a relief because finding a spot during big exhibitions can be absolutely brutal. The staff seems to get that most of their guests are business travelers who just want things to work smoothly – check-in is efficient, they know the drill with early arrivals and late departures, and they’re pretty good with practical questions about getting around. The breakfast setup is nothing fancy, but it’s substantial enough to fuel you through those marathon conference days, and the coffee’s actually decent.

Here’s what I really appreciate about this place – it knows what it is and doesn’t try to be something else. You’re not paying for a spa or a rooftop bar or Instagram-worthy lobby. You’re paying for a clean, comfortable base that gets you where you need to be without the premium price tag of the flashier hotels in the city center. And honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it delivers solidly on its promises. If you need to be at the Messe and want something reliable without breaking the budget, this place actually makes a lot of sense.

  Plenty of space for a 2 night stay. Comfortable beds and a welcoming host. Nice location just off Autobahn and 2 minute walk to U Bahn. Lots of car parking spaces.

  Convenient location to be based at for exploring Dusseldorf. 5 mins walk to tram station with frequent connections to city centre without the hassle of trying to find parking. Good sized rooms and toilet. Kitchen was small without sink so not the most convenient if you intend to make food but not an issue for us because we ate out.

  This is a great place to be if you are visiting or exhibiting at the Messe center, as it is a very short walk from there. Its a nice clean place, and Frank the host is very nice
  
  What could be improved: It shows also in the picture that the beds are two single beds. This is true, and they cannot even be pushed together to make one bed as they have a head part which makes it impossible. Its a pity. If you prefer a double bed… its not doable. But it was a minor thing for me.

  The apartment was inexpensive and super clean.
  
  What could be improved: The owner had zero interest in being helpful in any way. He just did not want to be bothered. There was a rolling transport strike which we did not know about. e.g. We went to the tram stop to see written on the electric board strike, so we called the owner and asked about the strike and trains and planes that we were due to take later that day and were told " I do nto read the news", bye. We didnot know to take the taxi to the train station or the next city or book froma different airport! The kitchen has no water and no sink or plumbing and the only water is in the toilet, but the tap is too low to even allow the kettle to be filled so we had to fill cups and pass the water to the kettle.

  Sehr saubere Wohnung und sehr netter, unkomplizierter Kontakt mit Herrn Boden. Die Lage für das Messgelände CCD ist herausragend. Ebenso ist ein Supermarkt fußläufig erreichbar.
  
  What could be improved: Leider ist keine richtige Küchenzeile vorhanden, da man das vorher weiß, ist es kein Problem.
