First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Messezimmer 4u, I’ll be honest — it’s not what you’d expect from a typical hotel. This four-star property sits quietly in the Nordparksiedlung area of Stockum, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has this understated, almost residential feel that immediately puts you at ease. What really caught my attention was how effortless everything felt from the moment I arrived — there’s parking right on site (and it’s free, which is honestly a godsend in Düsseldorf), so you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot.

The Stockum Advantage

You know what I love about this location? It’s in Stockum, which means you’re actually close to some pretty important stuff without being in the thick of tourist chaos. The Messe Düsseldorf is practically next door — I mean, you can see why couples rate this spot so highly for romantic getaways. It’s got that perfect balance where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special, but you’re not paying city center prices for every little thing. The neighborhood itself is quiet and residential, which I found surprisingly refreshing after dealing with busier parts of the city.

The Room Experience

The room itself was exactly what I needed — clean, well-thought-out, and surprisingly spacious for what you’re paying. Everything feels purposeful rather than flashy, if that makes sense. The bed was genuinely comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything was — you’d think being near the Messe would mean constant noise, but honestly, I slept better here than I have at some much pricier places in the city center.

Getting Around

Here’s something that took me by surprise — getting into central Düsseldorf is actually pretty straightforward from here. You’re not stuck in some far-flung suburb wondering how to get anywhere. The public transport connections work well, and having that free parking means you can easily drive to different parts of the city when you want to explore. I found myself using this as a base to check out both the business district and some of the more interesting neighborhoods without feeling like I was constantly commuting.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I totally get why recent guests have been rating the location so highly — it really does hit that sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. It just does what it does well. For couples especially, I can see the appeal — you get privacy, easy access to good dining and entertainment, and you’re not dealing with the hustle and bustle of staying right in the tourist zone. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re experiencing Düsseldorf rather than just passing through it.

  Sehr saubere Wohnung und sehr netter, unkomplizierter Kontakt mit Herrn Boden. Die Lage für das Messgelände CCD ist herausragend. Ebenso ist ein Supermarkt fußläufig erreichbar.
  
  What could be improved: Leider ist keine richtige Küchenzeile vorhanden, da man das vorher weiß, ist es kein Problem.

  This is a great place to be if you are visiting or exhibiting at the Messe center, as it is a very short walk from there. Its a nice clean place, and Frank the host is very nice
  
  What could be improved: It shows also in the picture that the beds are two single beds. This is true, and they cannot even be pushed together to make one bed as they have a head part which makes it impossible. Its a pity. If you prefer a double bed… its not doable. But it was a minor thing for me.

  Plenty of space for a 2 night stay. Comfortable beds and a welcoming host. Nice location just off Autobahn and 2 minute walk to U Bahn. Lots of car parking spaces.

  Good Location, close to Messe, Restaurants, parks and Grocery stores.

  The apartment was inexpensive and super clean.
  
  What could be improved: The owner had zero interest in being helpful in any way. He just did not want to be bothered. There was a rolling transport strike which we did not know about. e.g. We went to the tram stop to see written on the electric board strike, so we called the owner and asked about the strike and trains and planes that we were due to take later that day and were told " I do nto read the news", bye. We didnot know to take the taxi to the train station or the next city or book froma different airport! The kitchen has no water and no sink or plumbing and the only water is in the toilet, but the tap is too low to even allow the kettle to be filled so we had to fill cups and pass the water to the kettle.

  Convenient location to be based at for exploring Dusseldorf. 5 mins walk to tram station with frequent connections to city centre without the hassle of trying to find parking. Good sized rooms and toilet. Kitchen was small without sink so not the most convenient if you intend to make food but not an issue for us because we ate out.
