So I stumbled across Messezimmer am Thewissenweg during a work trip to Düsseldorf, and honestly? This little place surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away in Unterrath – not exactly the postcard part of the city, but hear me out. You’re actually in this quiet residential neighborhood where real people live, which means you get a genuine slice of local life instead of tourist chaos. The address is Thewissenweg 15, ground floor, and when I say ground floor, I mean you’re walking right into what feels more like staying at someone’s well-organized home than a typical hotel.

The first thing that hit me was how unexpectedly peaceful it was. I mean, you’re still technically in Düsseldorf, but Unterrath has this suburban calm that’s perfect if you need to actually sleep (or if you’re dealing with jet lag like I was). The rooms are clean and functional – no fancy marble bathrooms or anything, but everything works properly, which is honestly more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve stayed. What really impressed me was the attention to detail… fresh linens that actually smelled good, decent water pressure, and – this might sound weird – but the Wi-Fi was genuinely fast. You know how hotel internet is usually terrible? Not here.

The location is sort of brilliant if you think about it. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your door onto Königsallee, but you’re connected to the rest of Düsseldorf really easily. There’s good public transport nearby, and if you’re driving, parking isn’t the nightmare it is in the city center. I actually appreciated being away from all the conference crowds and tourist groups – it felt like I had a little breathing room. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there. It’s one of those places that doesn’t look like much online, but then you arrive and everything just… works. The check-in was smooth, the host clearly knows what they’re doing, and there’s this comfortable, no-fuss vibe that’s pretty rare these days.

What sealed it for me was the value – you’re getting solid accommodation without paying city center prices, and honestly, after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, sometimes you just want a quiet, clean place to crash. If you’re the type who needs to be in the middle of everything, this might not be your spot. But if you want somewhere reliable and peaceful with easy access to the city, Messezimmer am Thewissenweg is actually a really smart choice.

  Clean, warm and tidy. All necessary amenities and supplies available. Very good location in relation to the airport and Messe Düsseldorf. Restaurants and shops available nearby.
  
  What could be improved: We have no negative remarks. Minor recommendation: Maybe it would be good to have directions as to the easiest way to get to the old town. With any public transport and with any type of ticket.

  The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, making the business travel easy for my colleagues and I. It was conveinent to get around with public transport and we saved a ton of time commuting every day to the Messe Dusseldorf.
  
  What could be improved: I have nothing to complain about the apartment. The supermarkets are both closed on Sundays so can't make any grocery-shopping plans. Some restaurants nearby are great but they may not speak English, however we were able to get help from strangers in the neighborhood all the time.

  Wir kommen aus Augsburg und waren von Donnerstag bis Montag im Apartment von Herr Özelli – und wir waren absolut begeistert! Die Wohnung war blitzsauber, es gab öffentliche Parkplätze direkt vor der Haustüre und alles, was man braucht: einen Fernseher, ein sehr bequemes Boxspringbett, eine saubere Dusche und Toilette sowie eine Küche mit viel Ausstattung. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die gastfreundliche Art von Herr Özelli, der uns herzlich empfangen hat. Die Nähe zur Messe war für uns perfekt und auch das Check-out verlief völlig unkompliziert. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Apartment jedem empfehlen. Das war mit Sicherheit nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt – 100 % Weiterempfehlung!
  
  What could be improved: In der Unterkunft sind keine Hunde gestattet. Dies ist aber eine Grundvoraussetzung für den Aufenthalt und steht auch bei Booking drin, weswegen dieser Fakt transparent für jeden ist.

  Il proprietario è stato sempre molto disponibile, ci siamo trovati davanti all'appartamento al momento del nostro arrivo. Ci ha mostrato la casa e ci ha dato le chiavi. L'appartamento è grande, può ospitare fino a 4 persone. La biancheria per il letto e per il bagno è messa a disposizione da loro, c'è un buon wifi, c'è un salottino con TV e tantissimi DVD per rilassarsi. Acqua e ambienti caldi. L'appartamento dista 3 minuti dalla linea tram 707, molto comoda per raggiungere il centro. Direi davvero ottimo.
