Boy, was I wrong. This little gem tucked away on Krönerweg in Unterrath is actually something special, and that 9.3 rating? Yeah, it’s earned.

The moment you pull up, you realize this isn’t your typical hotel setup. It’s more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully converted space – which, honestly, makes it infinitely more interesting than those cookie-cutter chains. The separate entrance thing might sound like a small detail, but it’s brilliant when you’re dragging luggage around after a long day at the Messe (which is literally a five-minute walk, by the way). No awkward lobby encounters when you just want to crash. And can we talk about that minibar situation for a second? Free. Minibar. I mean, who does that anymore? It’s stocked with actual decent stuff too, not just overpriced peanuts and warm Coke.

What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re practically next door to one of Germany’s biggest exhibition centers. The Unterrath area itself is sort of this perfect middle ground – you’re not stuck in some industrial wasteland, but you’re also not paying city center prices. There’s a decent Turkish place just down the street that the locals actually eat at (always a good sign), and if you need to get into Düsseldorf proper, the U-Bahn connection is pretty solid. The room itself has this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually find in business accommodations – like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just checking boxes. The bed’s properly comfortable, not too soft, and there’s enough space to spread out your trade show materials without feeling cramped. Plus, the wifi actually works consistently, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. I stayed during a busy fair week and never had issues with hot water or noise from other guests. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself thinking, “Okay, I’d definitely come back here” – and honestly, that’s rarer than it should be these days.

Visitors often choose Dusseldorf apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Rhine metropolis.
