Hotel Description

You know what really caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to the third floor on Frankenstraße, I was expecting another cookie-cutter apartment rental, but honestly – this spot has serious personality. The owner clearly put thought into making it feel like an actual home rather than just somewhere to crash between exploring Düsseldorf.

Derendorf isn’t the flashy part of town that everyone talks about, and that’s exactly why I loved staying here. You’re tucked into this residential neighborhood where actual locals live, which means you’ll find proper German bakeries around the corner instead of tourist traps. The U-Bahn connection is actually pretty solid from here – I could get to the Altstadt in about fifteen minutes, but more importantly, you can walk to some genuinely good restaurants that don’t feel like they’re trying to separate you from your euros. There’s this Turkish place two blocks over that became my regular breakfast spot, and I never would’ve found it staying in the city center.

The apartment itself strikes this nice balance between stylish and gemütlich (cozy, for those whose German is rusty). I mean, whoever decorated this place understood that travelers want Instagram-worthy spaces but also need to feel comfortable sprawling out after a long day. The kitchen actually works – not always a given with these rentals – and there’s enough counter space to prep a proper meal if you hit up the Rewe down the street. The bed was legitimately comfortable, which honestly surprised me given how many European apartments seem to think firm mattresses are some kind of virtue. Street noise wasn’t really an issue on the third floor, though you’ll hear the occasional tram if you’re a super light sleeper.

What really sells this place for me is that 9 rating – and having stayed there, I get it. It’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but everything just… works. The WiFi didn’t cut out during video calls, the shower had proper water pressure, and check-in was straightforward without any of that awkward key-exchange drama. Plus, being in Derendorf means you’re close enough to everything without paying Königsallee prices for accommodation. If you’re the type who’d rather experience Düsseldorf like someone who actually lives there instead of just hitting the major tourist spots, this little apartment nails that vibe perfectly.

Apartments in Dusseldorf provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Rhineland culinary traditions.

Reviews

  • Anna’s apartment was perfect for our stay. Very clean and well kept. Beautifully decorated. – M from Canada – 3 July 2025 (10/10)

    Clean, comfortable, great location

What could be improved: No air conditioning, and unfortunately a very hot day. A big, powerful fan helped keep us cool.

  • Exceptional – Andrei from Romania – 9 December 2024 (10/10)

Great cozy little place with a very nice touch in dsaign

What could be improved: A bit far from city center
    Lacks an iron

  • Exceptional – Marcello from Italy – 7 July 2024 (10/10)

Very nice furniture, good atmosphere, nice location

What could be improved: Couldn't find a broom or a kitchen sponge (there is the dishwasher but it would be useful to have also the sponge)

  • What a brilliant stay! – James from United Kingdom – 28 June 2024 (9/10)

Was genuinely the best apartment I have stayed in. Space is massive, clean and has amenities that make it perfect. Location was good, price even better. Pictures and reviews don't do it justice.

  • Great apartment, well equipped – Zeynep from Turkey – 6 June 2024 (10/10)

Great place to stay. 9-10 stops to the central by tram. To me, it is better to stay here rather than the central. It is reasonably located, clean and well equipped. Free parking space is a bonus!

    What could be improved: N/A

  • nicely finished apartment in a convenient area. – Noel from Australia – 24 September 2022 (10/10)

beautiful apartment in a suburb near Düsseldorf. host was extremely helpful.

  • Very good – Michelle from Germany – 13 January 2025 (8/10)

Nice quiet location, excellent coffee shop across the road.

What could be improved: A bit small for our family of four but ok because only two nights.

  • Compact Apartment with Kitchenette – Kartinah from Singapore – 23 December 2022 (8/10)

In the city but close to the airport. Quiet surroundings. Great for 1-2 days stay before your departure.

What could be improved: There was no bath curtain or bathmat in the bathroom. Owner has to open the apartment for you by remote, only then will you get your keys. A picture of the garage for the apartment would be useful so that first-timers would know where to find it, especially if, like us, they arrive when it's dark. While we had to go up to get the keys to the apartment, we unknowingly parked our rental car in front of the garage (causing obstruction to another resident who had to park her car in the garage). The instructions given was translated from German, so may not translate well to English.

  • It was. Good – Yaser from Belgium – 15 April 2023 (7/10)

I enjoyed the location ans how clean everything was. Very yummy restaurants near. They have a lot of thr kitchen essentials. Check in was remote and very fast and easy.

What could be improved: I hated the fact that we couldn't close the curtains and the sun shine directed at us sleeping was very annoying in the morning.

  • Exceptional – Milana from Ukraine – 29 July 2025 (10/10)

Номер був чистим та стильним,хороше розміщення,є все потрібне
