Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Numa Düsseldorf Artol? It’s got this whole tech-forward vibe that actually works – and I say that as someone who usually rolls their eyes at “smart hotels.” The place sits right on Kaiserstrasse in Pempelfort, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that feels more like where locals actually live rather than tourist central. You’re about a 15-minute walk to the old town, but here’s the thing – you’ll probably end up loving this area more anyway.
The whole check-in process happens through your phone, which sounds gimmicky until you realize you’re not standing in line behind three tour groups at 3 PM. I mean, there were a couple moments where I fumbled with the app (the WiFi in the lobby could be stronger), but once you’re in, everything just flows. The rooms are what I’d call minimalist done right – clean lines, decent space for a European city hotel, and these floor-to-ceiling windows that make the place feel bigger than it actually is. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, though if you’re one of those people who needs twelve pillows, you might want to call ahead. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re on a fairly busy street. Double-glazed windows, I’m guessing.
Here’s where it gets interesting – the location puts you right in the middle of actual Düsseldorf life. There’s this fantastic Vietnamese restaurant literally around the corner (don’t ask me to pronounce the name, but it’s the one with the red awning), and you’re a five-minute walk from some of the best cafes in Pempelfort. The Rheinpark is close enough for morning runs, and honestly, the tram connections from here are better than what you’ll get staying closer to Königsallee where all the fancy hotels cluster. Speaking of which – parking is actually manageable in this neighborhood, unlike downtown where you’ll pay through the nose and still end up three blocks away.
The staff, when you do interact with them, clearly know their stuff about the city. I ended up chatting with someone at the front desk about where to find decent German beer that wasn’t just tourist traps, and got some solid recommendations that turned into my favorite evening spots. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it’s going for. Clean, efficient, genuinely helpful, and located where you can actually experience Düsseldorf rather than just pass through it. The only real downside I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs a lot of in-person service or traditional hotel amenities like room service, this might feel a bit sparse. But for most travelers – especially if you’re comfortable with technology and prefer exploring neighborhoods over staying in hotel bubbles – this place delivers exactly what a good 4-star should.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Dusseldorf through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich fashion and cultural heritage.

Very good – Viktor from Ukraine – 3 June 2025 (8/10)
Fair enough. Good location. Clean. Self check in. I love it
What could be improved: No parking lot and coworking is for additional paymentVery good experience ! – Fati from Belgium – 14 February 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The room is modern, spacious and well-equipped (small fridge, very comfortable bedding), with excellent soundproofing. The value for money is really appreciable, especially since we are just steps away from the city center.
What could be improved: One downside regarding the attitude of a staff member (young blonde woman with glasses) during luggage storage: her reluctance to help and condescending behavior towards my questions about how to use the luggage room contrast with the overall quality of the establishment. Her casual attitude unfortunately tarnishes the experience. A point to improve to maintain service excellence.Great stay at walking distance from the city centre – Elisabeth from Netherlands – 12 December 2024 (9/10)
Checkin process was super easy! I loved that we didn't have to waste time on checking in at a desk, we could do it beforehand and we got a keycode to our door, perfect! The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the location was good. It was a good 10min walk to the first christmas market at the corner of the city center. First I thought I wanted to stay closer to the city center, but I'm so glad we weren't: I wouldn't have slept because of all of the noise. This location is far enough from the crowds to not have that noise, yet close enough to be able to walk the distance. It was on a busy street, but because of the double windows, you heard almost nothing. Also bonus points for the lockers in which we could keep our luggage. Sometimes leaving a laptop behind at a lower budget hotel means everyone can get to it and I don't feel very safe leaving it behind. The lockers were great and big enough for 2 small suitcases and a lot of bags, I felt very secure because of that.
What could be improved: The curtains were too narrow and didn't close of the entire window. As a result, the room couldn't get dark and some light from the streetlights entered. I forgot my sleeping mask at home, so I didn't sleep well because of it.Great location and spacious room. Good value for a short stay. – Anamika from Germany – 28 October 2024 (9/10)
Location was accessible from Dusseldorf Hbf and central to all the places around. The room was spacious and had all amenities.
What could be improved: It was pretty noisy at night with our neighbors (someone talking loud on their phone around 23:00). Thankfully, their 24/7 operating staff helped us out and we managed to make them quiet.Superb – Vasileios from Greece – 5 October 2024 (9/10)

Excellent place for short stay – Viktor from Germany – 20 April 2024 (9/10)
Smooth check-in using a code.
The room looks exactly like the photos. Clean, very close to the metro station – good connection to the city center and Messe. Good location with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
The small kitchenette well equipped – fridge, stove, coffee machine. It was nice to find some welcoming beverages.
What could be improved: Missing power socket near the working desk.I enjoyed my stay, I will come back again and highly recommend this place. – Vellah from Germany – 2 April 2024 (9/10)
