I mean, you’re not going to stumble across hordes of tour groups here, but you’re still only about 15 minutes from Düsseldorf’s city center by tram. The building itself has this understated, residential vibe that makes you feel less like you’re staying in a hotel and more like you’ve borrowed a friend’s place for the week.

The apartments here are what I’d call properly functional – not Instagram-perfect, but thoughtfully set up with everything you actually need. The kitchenettes are small but well-equipped (I was surprised they had decent knives, which you can’t always count on), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night. Stockum’s pretty residential, so once evening hits, you’re not dealing with street noise or late-night revelry. The windows are decent quality too, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag. Parking’s available on-site, though you’ll want to mention you need it when booking – it’s not automatic, and street parking around there can be a bit of a hunt during the day.

Here’s the thing about staying in Stockum – you’re actually in a sweet spot geographically. The airport’s super close (like, genuinely 10 minutes by car), which makes this place perfect if you’ve got early flights or you’re doing that thing where you fly in late and don’t want to navigate an unfamiliar city center in the dark. But during the day, you’ve got the S-Bahn right there to zip you into the Altstadt or over to the Königsallee for shopping. There’s also this decent bakery about a five-minute walk away that does proper German breakfast pastries – the kind of local spot you’d never find if you were staying in the tourist zone. The staff at Parkside seems to get that most guests are either business travelers or people who want easy airport access without sacrificing comfort. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and they’re pretty flexible about timing, which I appreciated after a delayed flight. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but for a 3-star place, it punches above its weight. That 8.4 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re actually getting – reliable, comfortable, and genuinely convenient without the premium price tag of staying downtown.

  Perfect location for the Messe in Düsseldorf, nice clean spacious apartment, very quiet and good check in system with the key box.

  Ideal for us as we were visiting family who live close by. Ideal for local baker's and Aldi for any supplies we wanted and close to tram into city center. Clean and warm with a nice view and we are picky.
  
  What could be improved: Only issue was it was booked via Booking.com (not their fault) and no reply to my message from owner/manager and no mention of the keysafe PIN. I had to get my Brother who lives there and speaks German to call a German telephone number to ask for the code before he took us there as we went to his house first.

  The location will be dependant on your requirement, we were going to the Coldplay concert at the stadium. This worked extremely well as we only had a short walk home after. So if you are going to the stadium or exhibition halls the location works. Nice park opposite.
  
  What could be improved: a bit of the downside is that you are also close to the airport so easy to get to/from but some noise particularly between 6-7am when the planes can first take off. We had the windows open as it was warm but this would be reduced if we had them closed.

  The room was spacious, 2 floors, with a kitchen, clean and cozy.
  The area is quiet, there is a park and AQUAZOO nearby.
  Supermarket ALDI within a walking distance and there are also 2 restaurants serving Greek and German cuisine.
  Direct tram line 78 and 79 to Dusseldorf HB main station, 10 minutes ride. The city center is 7 minutes away.
