So I stumbled across this apartment rental on Fleher Straße when I was looking for something outside the typical Düsseldorf tourist zones, and honestly? Best decision I made for that trip. The place calls itself “Schickes Apartment” – which basically means “stylish apartment” for anyone whose German is rusty – and it actually lives up to the name without being pretentious about it.

What struck me first was how the owners really nailed that sweet spot between modern comfort and actual livability. You know how some vacation rentals feel like showrooms where you’re afraid to touch anything? Not here. The furnishings are genuinely nice but in that relaxed way where you can actually sprawl on the couch with your morning coffee without worrying about leaving marks. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – I mean, there’s a decent knife that can actually cut tomatoes, which is rarer than you’d think in short-term rentals. The Flehe neighborhood itself is this quiet residential area that most tourists never see, which worked perfectly for me since I was tired of dodging selfie sticks on Königsallee. It’s about a 15-minute tram ride to the Altstadt, but honestly, I found myself appreciating the breathing room. There’s a little bakery just down the street where the woman behind the counter started recognizing me after day two – that kind of neighborhood feel you don’t get staying in the city center.

Parking was surprisingly painless (and free, which in Düsseldorf is basically like finding buried treasure), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. The host actually responded to messages quickly without being weirdly overeager, if you know what I mean. The apartment sits in this converted building that’s clearly been updated recently – good soundproofing, reliable WiFi, proper water pressure in the shower. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to decompress after long days exploring the city. I particularly appreciated that the windows actually open properly for fresh air, unlike some newer places where everything’s sealed shut. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but everything just… works. Clean, comfortable, well-maintained, with those little touches that show someone actually thought about what guests need rather than just throwing together whatever furniture was on sale. If you’re planning to spend your days out and about but want a proper home base that won’t drain your budget or overwhelm you with unnecessary frills, this spot in Flehe delivers exactly what it promises.

  Wir hatten das Appartement im Rahmen einer Familienfeier für zwei Familienangehörige gebucht. Sie waren von dem Appartement, ohne zu übertreiben, sehr begeistert! Grund dafür waren nicht nur die durchdachte und gehobene Ausstattung, sondern auch die Lage (Anbindung an Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und öffentlichen Nahverkehr)! Das Appartement ist modern ausgestattet, sehr sauber und gepflegt und bietet Ruhe zum Entspannen. Vielen Dank auch für den unkomplizierten Check-In/ Check-Out. VG in die Flehe- Wir kommen gerne wieder auf Sie zurück!

  Gemühtliches Wasserbett.
  Toller Fernsehr + Sofa. Drehbar fuer Bett und Sofa.
  Klimaanlage war top.
  Super Regendusche.
  Ausreichend Handtücher.
  
  What could be improved: Induktionsherd hat funktioniert aber nicht so gut wie erwartet.
  Am Wochenende Parkplatz finden war schwer, aber Innenstadt halt.
