You know what? I almost walked right past this place on Stralsunder Straße because, honestly, it doesn’t look like much from the street – just another residential building in Garath. But that’s exactly what makes Stilvolle Privatzimmer so brilliant. You’re essentially staying in someone’s beautifully designed apartment, and I mean that in the best possible way. The moment you step inside, it’s clear whoever runs this place has an eye for design – everything feels curated but not precious, you know? The kind of space where you can actually relax without worrying about touching anything.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to make it feel both luxurious and homey at the same time. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe with really thoughtful touches – proper blackout curtains (thank god), charging stations exactly where you need them, and honestly some of the most comfortable bedding I’ve encountered in Germany. The kitchen area is fully equipped, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a night or two, and there’s this great little breakfast nook that catches the morning light perfectly. I spent way too much time there with my coffee, just watching the neighborhood wake up. Speaking of the neighborhood – Garath gets overlooked by most tourists, but it’s actually this quiet residential area that feels authentically Düsseldorf. You’re about twenty minutes from the Altstadt by S-Bahn, but you get to experience what it’s like to live here rather than just visit.

The whole experience feels more like staying with a design-savvy friend than at a traditional hotel, which explains that 9 rating. No formal front desk or concierge hovering around – just smooth communication and everything you need already thought of. Parking was surprisingly easy for Düsseldorf (there’s street parking that’s not impossible to find), and the building is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep well. I mean, you might hear the occasional tram in the distance, but it’s more comforting than disruptive. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs daily housekeeping or room service, this probably isn’t your speed – but if you appreciate good design, want some space to spread out, and like the idea of experiencing Düsseldorf like a local rather than a tourist, this place is pretty much perfect. It’s the kind of spot that makes you start looking at apartment listings in the area, if you know what I mean.

  Owner was very polite and nice, helped with all questions what we had. All facilities was in very good condition, apartament was clean and bed comfortable. Kitchen was with all needed for making brekfest/dinner. In kitchen = compliments as a tea, sugar, salt and small things. Bathroom – all was good.

  Wir hatten eine sehr angenehme Übernachtung. Die Wohnung ist modern eingerichtet, sauber und gut ausgestattet – besonders schön war die kinderfreundliche Geste mit Snacks und Spielen. Der Gastgeber (Mika) war aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und hat sich wirklich bemüht, dass wir uns wohlfühlen. Klare Empfehlung!
