You know what surprised me most about Sunny Appartement? The name actually fits – I mean, you’d think it’s just marketing speak, but this place genuinely gets incredible light throughout the day. I stayed there last spring when I had some business in Düsseldorf, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot in Rath. But sometimes you stumble onto these gems that just work.

The location on Eckampstraße is pretty clever, actually. Rath isn’t exactly the postcard part of Düsseldorf – it’s more residential, which means you’re living like locals do rather than being stuck in tourist central. There’s this great Turkish bakery maybe two blocks down that does incredible börek in the mornings, and you can catch the S-Bahn super easily to get into the Altstadt or wherever you need to go. The street itself is quiet enough that I could sleep with the windows cracked open (always a good sign), but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Parking was surprisingly painless too – I managed to find street spots most days without the usual Düsseldorf parking nightmare.

What really got me was how thoughtfully the place is set up. The apartment – and it really feels like an apartment, not a hotel room – has this lived-in quality that’s hard to fake. The kitchen actually has proper knives and real coffee cups, not those tiny hotel things that barely hold a sip. I ended up cooking a couple nights because, well, why not? The shower has solid water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think), and the wifi didn’t cut out every time someone walked by. Small things, but they add up. The whole place feels like someone’s well-loved home that they’re just letting you borrow for a while. I kept expecting to run into issues – you know how it is with places that seem too good to be true – but everything just worked the way it should. Even check-in was smooth, no weird complications or surprise fees. That 9.5 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it’s earned through all these little details that most places get wrong.

  The room was clean and cozy. Some bottles of drinks were helped us. Flowers in the rooms were also nice. When we arrived, we called them then a man was waiting at the room. So better to inform exact arriving time.
  Find parking was a bit challenging. No common supermarkets in walk distance. Navigation took us wrong road, better to check well. The owner communicate with German.

  It was a very cute and cozy apartment, pleasant for 4 people. The owner allowed us to check in whenever we wanted. It was very clean when we came and everything was ready! There also were drinks ready for us 🙂 Parking in the street was easy to find and free. We loved our stay and will definitely visit again when in dusseldorf!

  Very nice, spacious and comfortable and modern apartment with all facilities needed. Quiet neighborhood, yet short walking distance from public transportation towards the city center.
