acora Düsseldorf Living the City Overview
First Impressions
Walking into acora Düsseldorf Living the City, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical three-star hotel. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels more like a boutique property than what you’d expect in the Hassels district. I mean, the name says it all — they’re really going for that urban living experience, and honestly, they pull it off pretty well. The staff here seems genuinely happy to see you, which isn’t always a given at mid-range hotels.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in Hassels — you’re not in the heart of Düsseldorf, but that’s actually not a bad thing. This area gives you a more authentic feel of how locals live, away from the tourist crowds around Königsallee. The parking situation is fantastic since it’s free at the hotel, which is honestly a huge relief if you’re driving in Germany. You can easily hop on public transport to reach the old town or the Rhine promenade in about 15-20 minutes, and there’s something nice about coming back to a quieter neighborhood after a day of sightseeing.
The Room Experience
The room setup here is what really sets this place apart from standard hotels. Each unit feels more like a small apartment than a hotel room — you’ve got proper living space that doesn’t make you feel cramped after a long day out. The kitchenette is surprisingly well-equipped; I actually used it to make coffee in the morning and store some snacks from the local market. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms are modern with good water pressure, which you know matters when you’ve been walking around the city all day.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The breakfast buffet is solid — nothing fancy, but they cover all the basics with fresh bread, good coffee, and typical German breakfast items. What I noticed is how many guests seem to be regulars here, which tells you something about the place. There’s this relaxed morning atmosphere where people actually take their time instead of rushing off, and the restaurant area has big windows that let in plenty of natural light. You can tell the repeat guests have their favorite spots figured out.
Why Guests Love It
Couples really seem to appreciate this place, and I can see why — there’s something intimate about the apartment-style setup that makes it feel like you’re playing house in Düsseldorf rather than just passing through. The fact that so many people come back speaks volumes about the overall experience. It’s not trying to be flashy or impress you with unnecessary amenities, but it gets the fundamentals right. You’ve got space to spread out, free parking, a decent breakfast, and a location that gives you both peace and easy access to the city center. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Great stay, we are coming back! – Sabah from Netherlands – 6 November 2024 (8/10)
Very large room, everything we need was in the room. Breakfast was good and we were close to public transportation. What also an advantage is, is that you can parc your car free at the hotel. Staff was very helpful!
Nice hotel just a bit outside of the city center with amazing matrasses! – Zack from Netherlands – 8 September 2024 (8/10)
The staff was kind. They were quick on their feet to serve you. The room had all the basics one require. I loved the fact there were Nespresso machines with cups. The cups were refilled every day. The cleaned the beds everyday.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the rooms had silverfishes. Silverfishes don't bite you, but can carry bacteria and mold. I told this to the staff and they were very sorry and gave me some bug spray. The bug spray helped kill off the silverfishes. Fortunately, this bug spray did not smell bad and afterwards did not see the bugs anymore.Good location and amenities, comfortable beds. Would stay again. – Jade from United Kingdom – 3 September 2024 (9/10)
Comfortable beds, large room with plenty of storage space, mini fridge and safe.
Location was great as we were driving, so avoided LEZ zones and had free parking on site including secure underground parking. Hotel was easy to find.
Free WiFi, short walk to multiple shops and short walk to train station.
All rooms had balconies too so was nice to sit outside in the evenings.
What could be improved: Requested a queen bed when selecting the room, as it showed I had the option to choose bed set-up, though the room had two twin beds pushed together.Would book again – Michael from Austria – 20 June 2024 (9/10)
The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept super well! The room was large in size and clean. The breakfast for 10 Euros was a great price and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Public transport connection to the city centre is also good if you're not returning to the hotel too late.
What could be improved: I'm not the biggest fan of carpet flooring and it didn't feel super clean (even though it was but that's just the feeling you get from old carpet floors. Apart from that we had everything we needed.Stayed overnight after visiting friends in Solingen. Too tired to go to Dusseldorf center in evening – Nysgjerrig-per from Switzerland – 27 April 2024 (9/10)
friendly staff, huge room with balcony, good breakfast, excellent coffee
