I stumbled across this gem on Kamenzer Weg in Vennhausen – and look, I’ll be straight with you, most people haven’t heard of this neighborhood, but that’s actually part of its appeal. It’s properly residential, which means you’re living like a local instead of being stuck in some touristy bubble.

The apartment itself is refreshingly straightforward – no pretentious design nonsense, just clean, functional space that actually works for travelers. But here’s the thing that sold me: that private sun terrace they mention? It’s not some tiny balcony with a sad plastic chair. We’re talking about a proper outdoor space that opens right into the garden, and I mean, when the afternoon light hits it just right, you’ll understand why the 8.8 rating isn’t just booking site inflation. I spent way more time out there than I expected, especially in the evenings when the neighborhood gets this lovely quiet buzz – you can hear families finishing dinner, maybe some kids playing in nearby gardens, but it never gets chaotic.

The Vennhausen location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Düsseldorf without paying city center prices or dealing with constant tourist crowds. There’s a decent bakery about a five-minute walk away (the kind where the owner actually remembers your order after two visits), and getting into the main city is surprisingly easy – though I’d recommend figuring out the public transport situation before you arrive because it’s not immediately obvious from the apartment. Parking was never an issue, which, if you’ve ever tried to park in central Düsseldorf, you’ll appreciate. The check-in was refreshingly human – none of that sterile hotel front desk experience, more like someone’s actually handing over the keys to their space and wants you to enjoy it. Sure, it’s only rated three stars, but honestly, I think that just reflects the fact that there’s no concierge or room service – the actual quality of stay feels much higher than that suggests.

  Compact well equipped apartment which is great if you are not a fan of hotels or package deals. Ideal peaceful location out of the city with ideal transport links to visit Dusseldorf, Cologne and Wuppertal to mention a few. Magdelana and family are top hosts.

  The host was friendly and helpful, and the studio was well equipped. The wifi was good, and I was able to work remotely using it. There was free parking, and the neighbourhood was quiet. It takes only 15 minutes to go to the center of Düsseldorf by car.
  
  What could be improved: The air quality in the studio was bad, we needed to turn on the dehumidifier multiple times per day, and open the door to let the space air a bit. However, the host said that they will work on improving the ventilation.

  Environnement très calme et très agréable, hôte très disponible et à l'écoute. Le nécessaire est présent, avec un petit + pour la fourniture du linge de bain et des différents produits de toilette.
