Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of apartments in Düsseldorf, and honestly? Auszeit Apartment on Langenbielauer Weg is one of those places that actually lives up to its stellar rating – and trust me, I was skeptical about that 9.9 at first. The name literally means “timeout” in German, which is pretty much exactly what you get here in Vennhausen.

What struck me right away was how quiet this area is, especially compared to the chaos around Königsallee or even Altstadt. Vennhausen feels like where actual Düsseldorfers live – you know, tree-lined streets, kids riding bikes, the works. The apartment itself sits in this residential pocket where you can actually sleep with the windows open (revolutionary concept, I know). The space has that crisp, Nordic-minimalist thing going on without feeling cold or sterile. I mean, there’s real attention to detail here – soft lighting that doesn’t give you a headache, a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, not just reheating takeout. The bed situation is seriously comfortable too, which matters when you’re dealing with jet lag or just trying to recover from too many Altbier the night before.

Here’s what really sold me though – the location is this perfect sweet spot where you feel like you’re living locally but you’re not stranded. There’s a decent bus connection that’ll get you to Hauptbahnhof in about twenty minutes, and if you’re driving (parking is actually manageable here, unlike in the city center), you can reach the airport pretty easily. The neighborhood has this authentic German residential vibe – there’s a bakery within walking distance that does proper brötchen, and you’ll pass locals walking their dogs instead of tourists taking selfies. It’s refreshing, honestly. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, everything was spotless, and they left those little touches that show they actually care about the experience. I noticed they stock the place with decent coffee and basic essentials, which saves you from that awkward first-morning scramble to find an open shop. The whole setup just works for people who want to experience Düsseldorf without feeling like they’re camping out in a hotel lobby or dealing with paper-thin walls and overpriced minibars. Whether you’re here for business meetings in the city or just want a genuine base for exploring the Rhineland, this place gets it right in ways that surprised me.

  Perfect. Friendly, clean, free drinks, water, tea, coffee & milk, a desk with stationery laid out perfectly – everything, immaculate and best I’ve stayed in; lots of special extra touches. I didn’t have a car but there was a garage, parking spot and electric charger.
  
  What could be improved: Double bed with a single duvet, although on my own I would’ve liked a double duvet.

  The hosts are incredibly welcoming and immediately make us feel at home. We were very impressed with the apartments – the design, facilities, and cleanliness are exceptional. You can really tell how much thought the owner has put into creating the space; everything is designed for maximum convenience and ease for guests. We particularly loved the bathroom, which is spotless with powerful water pressure. The host also thoughtfully provided multiple sets of cutlery and plates, complimentary coffee/tea, drinks in the fridge, as well as snacks like nuts, chocolates, and cookies. The atmosphere is very cozy. The location is also great, just a short 13-minute drive from the city center and close to several supermarket chains, making it very convenient if you prefer not to eat out."

  My Stay was very pleasant, the host was there, and showed me everything, even the restaurants nearby, moreover they talked to the chef to prepare Special food I have requested [Halal Food].
  There was free drinks in the Minibar, biscuits, Salted Nuts and free Coffee and tea.
  They also showed me the bus stop and told me that it goes directly to the fair.
  The Place was quite and lovely with a shared Backyard Garden.

  The hosts sent us the details of how to get into the apartment but when we got there he was there anyway and showed us around and how to use the blinds/shutters etc. The apartment was perfect for us and they have thought of everything. The apartment was spotless and so comfortable. We were in Dusseldorf for the Euro 2024 tournament and told the host that we were going to the game – when we got back from the game there was a present for us hanging on the door to the apartment with a note to say congratulations and all the best for the rest of the tournament. This was such a nice touch. I also checked out and then realised when we were on our way to the next city that I had left my bag – they were really quick to respond to my message and met us back at the apartment to give me my bag. Such a nice family and perfect hosts. There is also lots of routes into Dusseldorf city centre from just around the corner too. Highly recommended.

  Ongelooflijke ervaring. Aan alles werd gedacht, tot in de kleinste details. Super vriendelijke ontvangst met koffie op het terras, ook al lieten we last minute weten dat we vroeger aankwamen.
  Lekkere drankjes in de koelkast en koffie op de kamer.
  We konden ook gratis onze wagen laden en de fietsen veilig zetten. Veel dank aan onze gastheer en -mevrouw!

  Sehr netter Empfang von den Besitzern, man hatte gleich ein sehr familiären Eindruck. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Apartment war sauber und die Ausstattung war hochwertig mit einem persönlichen Charme. Die Lage war ruhig und Zentrumsnah.
