Chrisma Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Chrisma on Auf der Böck, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel. It’s tucked into a quiet residential street in Düsseldorf‘s Hamm district, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The three-star property has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly genuine — no flashy lobby or over-the-top décor, just clean lines and a welcoming atmosphere that puts you at ease right away.
The Hamm Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually staying in a real neighborhood, not some touristy bubble. Hamm gives you that authentic German residential vibe, with tree-lined streets and local cafés where you’ll hear more German than English. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about it (and I can see why they rated the location 9.5), because you get this peaceful, almost village-like feeling while still being well-connected to central Düsseldorf. The S-Bahn connections are solid, so getting into the Altstadt or the business district is straightforward enough.
Your Room and Comfort
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place — thoughtfully designed without being fussy. Everything worked properly, which sounds basic but you know how rare that can actually be. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What really impressed me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, proper blackout curtains, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re showering in a phone booth.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast buffet here is honestly better than it needs to be for a three-star hotel. They’ve got the German breakfast essentials covered — proper bread selection, quality cold cuts, and decent coffee — but they also throw in some nice touches that show they’re paying attention. I mean, you’re not going to confuse it with a five-star spread, but it’ll definitely fuel you up for a day of exploring. The breakfast room has this cozy, almost family-run feel that makes lingering over your coffee feel natural rather than rushed.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Chrisma is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The free private parking is a genuine blessing if you’re driving — anyone who’s tried to park in central Düsseldorf will appreciate this immediately. The staff seems to actually care about your stay, and there’s this relaxed efficiency that makes everything run smoothly. Recent guests consistently rate it highly (8.8 for location alone), and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another booking number.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Dusseldorf through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich fashion and cultural heritage.

Came for the euros and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and nicer. Was the perfect location, just far enough away from the city centre for a chilled vibe but with great transport links on our door step to get anywhere in Düsseldorf.
