Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the H2 Hotel Düsseldorf Seestern on Emanuel-Leutze-Straße, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in what’s essentially a residential area of Lörick. But you know what? Sometimes being wrong feels pretty good. This place actually surprised me in ways that those fancy downtown hotels with their marble lobbies never do.

The thing about staying here is that you’re not in the touristy mess of the Altstadt, which means you get to see how Düsseldorf actually breathes. I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes from the Rhine promenade if you take the U-Bahn from Lörick station (it’s literally a 3-minute walk from the hotel), but your mornings start with the sound of regular people heading to work instead of tour groups clustering around hotel entrances. The neighborhood has this quiet, almost suburban feel – there’s a decent bakery just around the corner where locals grab their morning bread, and I found myself stopping there every day because, well, the smell of fresh pretzels is hard to resist. The hotel itself feels modern without trying too hard – clean lines, lots of natural light, and rooms that are bigger than you’d expect for the price point. What really got me was the attention to small details that actually matter when you’re living somewhere for a few days. The shower pressure is excellent (trust me on this), the beds are firm but comfortable, and there’s enough desk space to actually spread out your laptop without knocking over the coffee cups. Parking was surprisingly easy too – they have their own spots, which in Düsseldorf is basically like finding gold.

Honestly, the 8.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work – they helped me figure out the best route to the Messe when I had a conference, and when I mentioned I was looking for good local restaurants, they pointed me toward places in nearby Oberkassel that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and you can sit by the windows watching the neighborhood wake up, which is oddly peaceful. I suppose if you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of everything every minute, this might feel too quiet. But if you want a genuine base to explore the city from – somewhere that feels more like staying in a real place rather than a tourist bubble – this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  • Excellent stay during the google cloud summit 2025. Best stay in this hotel thus far – Abraham from Germany – 8 July 2025 (9/10)

I am a recurring guest. I like the great value of the place. I took the surprise room with breakfast, its always a bit of a gamble… but when you score you score well 🙂

What could be improved: Even though the breakfast buffet is welel stacked I did miss Grilled chicken filet or something like peanut butter. It is very minor but it would make my protein rich diet a lot easier to have one of those available

  • It was ok. – Tamara from Netherlands – 6 July 2025 (7/10)

It was clean and neat. Breakfast was good. If there was a good connection for public transportation to CCD congress center it would have been great. I do like the part that you can buy some drinks and bring them to your own room.
