Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about the niu Tab? I expected another cookie-cutter hotel near Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, but this place actually has personality. Walking up Moskauer Straße from the station – it’s maybe a seven-minute walk, honestly less if you’re not dragging a massive suitcase – the building stands out with this clean, modern design that doesn’t try too hard to be flashy.

The lobby hits you with this industrial-chic vibe that somehow feels cozy instead of cold. I mean, they’ve nailed that whole “stylish but not intimidating” thing that a lot of boutique places attempt but mess up. Check-in was refreshingly quick, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner spots. They pointed me toward some solid Turkish places on Bilker Allee that definitely weren’t tourist traps. The rooms are compact but smart – everything has its place, and honestly, the bed was way more comfortable than I expected from a 3-star. The soundproofing impressed me too, because let’s be real, you’re close enough to the Hauptbahnhof that you could worry about train noise, but I barely noticed it.

What really sells this place is how well it connects you to Düsseldorf without the insane prices of staying in Altstadt or Königsallee. Oberbilk gets a bad rap sometimes, but this stretch is totally fine and actually pretty convenient. You’ve got the U-Bahn right there – U74, U77, U79 all stop at Oberbilk/Warschauer Straße, which is literally around the corner. I used it to hop over to the old town for dinner and to check out the Rhine promenade, then came back to a quiet street where I could actually sleep. The whole area feels more like real Düsseldorf, you know? Less polished than the city center, but in a good way. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down for morning coffee, and if you need groceries, there’s a Rewe that stays open late. Parking might be tricky if you’re driving – street spots fill up, but the hotel staff can point you toward a garage that’s not too expensive. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I’m in town for business or just want a base that’s well-connected but not in the thick of tourist central.

Reviews

  • Very good – Jeganathan from Netherlands – 2 August 2025 (8/10)

It was super clean and quiet.

What could be improved: The AC didn't work properly. Was bit difficult to sleep with 25 degrees. Even though reducing the temperature didn't help, unfortunately. Apart from this, it was nice to stay overall!

  • Very good – Mojtaba from Iran – 31 July 2025 (8/10)

The location was great, in peaceful area few minutes far from central train station.
Clean and cozy room, nice and helpful staff, fast check in and swift self checkout.
The breakfast was as good as expected from holiday inn quality. In short, It worth the money you pay.

What could be improved: I can't say that I didn't like something, but it would be nice to have fridge in room.

  • Superb – Jennifer from United States – 27 July 2025 (9/10)

    Bedding, shower gel

What could be improved: No door on shower, flooded bathroom

What could be improved: AC not cooling

  • Superb – Marianna from Switzerland – 20 July 2025 (9/10)

Just behind the train station – 10 min walk. Clean, modern.

  • Comfortable hotel for a good nights sleep. – Paul954 from United Kingdom – 17 July 2025 (9/10)

The room was very comfortable with a comfy bed and great shower. The air con worked well and I got a good nights sleep, the primary objective. It's a short walk to the tube station so easy to get into the old town centre. Breakfast was very good.

What could be improved: Car parking is expensive but recommended, the hotel is not in the nicest part of town.

  • Cosy place and good location – Alp from Turkey – 17 July 2025 (9/10)

The room was so cosy and clean, the price was affordable!

What could be improved: Room was a little bit small

  • Superb – Gareth from United Kingdom – 13 July 2025 (9/10)

    All good

  • Very nice modern hotel – Mariam from Germany – 6 July 2025 (9/10)

I love the design of the room, very modern and comfortable with a huge very clean bathroom. Being able to connect to the TV and built in speakers via your own phone was a delight. Simplistic design made the room very airy, not crowded and very comfortable. Beds and pillows are nice, each person had 3 pillows of different sizes wich is nice. Staff was nice and let us have 2 adjacent rooms as requested without problems. Great value for the money.

What could be improved: Air conditioner was a disaster so it was too hot to sleep with the window closed and too loud to sleep with the window open. The floor in the room was dusty, you could feel it on your feet and on your socks. It definitely needs more mopping and sweeping. Same for the carpeted floor outside the room, had stains and needed vacuumining. No phone in the room to contact the reception or another room, so when I tried to call someone to fix the AC, there was no way to do so if I didn't want to run down in my pyjamas myself. Location is okay, on weekends and nights a bit scary especially if you have young kids. There are definitely better parts in the city.

  • Comfortable stay in the center of Dusseldorf – Chloe from Netherlands – 28 June 2025 (9/10)

Great location, comfortable and clean rooms

    What could be improved: Nothing
