You know what caught me off guard about Hotel AMANO Düsseldorf? The lobby actually feels like a place you’d want to hang out in, not just rush through to get to your room. It’s got this modern, slightly industrial vibe that somehow works perfectly on Graf-Adolf-Strasse – you’re literally in the heart of Stadtmitte, which means you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in the old town. I mean, the Königsallee is maybe ten minutes on foot, and honestly, after staying in hotels where you need to take three trains to get anywhere decent, that proximity is everything.

The rooms themselves are what I’d call “smart small” – they’re not huge, but whoever designed them actually thought about how real people use hotel rooms. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to open your suitcase without doing some weird contortionist routine. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting – you’ve got options beyond the usual harsh overhead fluorescent situation that makes you look like you’re in a police interrogation. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with that rainfall shower head that actually has decent water pressure. Small thing, but it matters when you’ve been walking around Düsseldorf all day.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned to explore without feeling like you’re stuck in some touristy bubble. The Rheinuferpromenade is close enough for evening walks along the river, and if you’re into the whole Altstadt brewery scene – which, let’s be honest, is half the reason to visit Düsseldorf – you can stumble back to the hotel without navigating complicated public transport routes. I stayed there during a quieter period in fall, so I can’t speak to how it handles the summer crowds, but the street itself isn’t too noisy despite being pretty central. The staff seems to know their stuff too – not overly chatty, but they’ll point you toward that little bakery around the corner that locals actually go to, rather than just handing you a generic tourist map. For a three-star place with an 8.3 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  Highly recommended! Located at the heart of the city. Walking distance to Little Tokyo area which is the one of the main reason why we’re in Düsseldorf. The room is clean and cozy. I have requested flower petals deco as a surprise to my husband and they made it well with cute cupcakes with happy birthday on it. Thank you for that! I also also love your handsoap, shampoo and body wash, they are superb! So nice on hair and skin. I even ask the receptionist for that specific brand but she won’t tell me (bec I forgot to take pics of it). But it’s fine. Overall we had a lovely stay ❤️
  
  What could be improved: There’s a little crack on the door strike spacer and I was afraid at first that it will not get locked. But it’s fine. Also the room is a little bit dark for me even if I’ve switched all the lights on it. But it’s just a minimal problem. That’s just me being honest.

  What could be improved: The area wasn’t very cozy. It was a long walk to the center. The terrace was under construction, so I couldn’t eat my breakfast outside.
  Advice: Please show the Wi-Fi key in the room or on the tablet, so guests can easily connect to the internet.
