The thing about this place is its location in the northern part of the city – you’re sort of removed from the tourist chaos of the Altstadt, which I mean, can be a blessing depending on what you’re after. It’s genuinely quiet here, especially at night, and if you’re someone who needs actual sleep (revolutionary concept, I know), you’ll appreciate that the rooms face away from any major traffic arteries. The staff at check-in were refreshingly efficient without being robotic – they actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about walking to the Rhine, which honestly happens less often than you’d think at chain hotels.
