Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Palm Premium? Walking up to this place on Karlstraße, I was expecting another cookie-cutter business hotel – I mean, it’s right in Stadtmitte where everything looks pretty corporate. But honestly, there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it that grew on me during my stay.

The location is actually brilliant if you think about it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Heinrich-Heine-Allee U-Bahn station, which sounds boring until you realize that puts you anywhere in Düsseldorf without dealing with parking (good luck finding a decent spot around here, especially during trade fair season). I loved being able to walk to the Altstadt for dinner – it’s maybe ten minutes if you don’t get distracted by the shops along the way. The thing is, Karlstraße itself can get a bit noisy during the day with all the traffic, but by evening it settles down nicely. I actually found the gentle hum kind of soothing, though I know some people are more sensitive to street noise.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth – no pretentious marble lobby or anything, just efficient and friendly service from people who clearly knew the city well. When I asked about getting to Königsallee for some window shopping, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the tourist map; he mentioned which entrance to use and warned me about construction on one of the streets. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully simple – clean lines, decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected from a 3-star place. The apartment-style rooms are particularly clever if you’re staying longer; having a little kitchenette meant I could grab fresh bread from the bakery around the corner and have proper coffee in the morning instead of the usual hotel stuff.

I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy design. But sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially in a city like Düsseldorf where you’re probably out exploring most of the time anyway. The shower pressure was solid, the air conditioning worked without sounding like a jet engine, and I never had to hunt down staff when I needed something. Plus, if you’re here for business, you’re genuinely close to everything that matters – the financial district, major shopping areas, and transport links to the airport or other cities. I found myself recommending it to a colleague who was coming in the following month, which I guess says something about how it sits with you after you leave.

Hotels in Dusseldorf offer guests the perfect blend of German sophistication and modern comfort, with many featuring fashion concierge services and traditional Rhine brewery experiences to enhance the authentic German cultural experience.

Reviews

  • Superb – Maria from Germany – 29 July 2025 (9/10)

    Location, bathroom, bed, kettle, view

  • great for central visit. – Siobhan from United Kingdom – 28 July 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is good value and is in a great location if travelling into the city by public transport – just a few minutes walk from the train station. The staff were all very friendly and the room and bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels. There is a lift and my room had a lovely view. The neighbourhood is good with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
I received a free upgrade from a single to a double room which was appreciated. I would stay here again.

What could be improved: I asked and there were very few vegan breakfast options, but this is not a problem as the area has many places nearby with options that are clearly labelled.

  • Highly recommended! – Dutkamon from Netherlands – 24 July 2025 (10/10)

Highly recommend! Great value. Best location. Spotless clean room. Soundproof is real. The staff is friendly. I had a very pleasant stay.

Surprisingly, I got a room upgraded! I booked for a budget single room but, somehow, I was assigned to a double room with kitchenette. A Smart TV which could use Smartcast with my phone was a bonus! That way I enjoyed Netflix connecting from my phone.

Ps. Body wash is nice scent.

What could be improved: The drainer had a bit unpleasant smell.

  • Superb – Istvan from Hungary – 17 July 2025 (9/10)

Comfortable accommodation, tidy rooms. The boss is a smiling, kind man, they helped with everything. We said goodbye to each other with good feelings. The breakfast was also okay, a larger selection than usual. The hotel is constantly being renovated, the lobby is also completely new, there is an opportunity to relax there.

What could be improved: The area is quite dirty, the street front can be noisy if someone is very sensitive to it, but the windows are incredibly well insulated

  • Great stay – Wilson from United Kingdom – 16 July 2025 (9/10)

    Close to railway station

  • Very good – Gatis from France – 13 July 2025 (8/10)

The location was perfect within walking distance from the train station, close to city public transport, staff were very polite, smooth checking in process, room and bathroom were very clean, very comfortable bed, air conditioning was a big plus

What could be improved: No kettle or small fridge in the room, overall the room decor was a bit dated, the room was facing a busy street with a lot of traffic however it wasn’t disturbing me

  • Exceptional – Linda from South Africa – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

    Extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating.

  • Exceptional – Adalberto from Germany – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

Great service, very quick to reply to messages and very friendly and helpful! Super location and amazing value!

  • The room was great and equip with a kitchen. We didn't expect it! – Charisse from Germany – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

The staff let us checked in early without any payment.

  • Nice budget hotel in great location. – Angus from United Kingdom – 5 July 2025 (8/10)

A few minutes walk from train station and within easy walking distance from all tourist spots.

Friendly staff, straightforward advance online check-in and good breakfast selection.
