Hotel Description
You know what? The Trip Inn Hotel Esplanade isn’t going to blow you away at first glance, but honestly – and I mean this – it’s one of those places that grows on you. I walked into the lobby expecting your typical mid-range business hotel (which, let’s be real, it sort of is), but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. The front desk staff actually seem to care about getting you sorted, and I didn’t have to wait in some ridiculous check-in line like you do at those massive chain hotels.
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, functional, with that slightly generic European hotel vibe that’s actually kind of comforting after a long day of traveling. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re not completely isolated from city sounds, but it’s nothing like those places where you hear every conversation in the hallway. The beds are proper firm (thank god), and the shower pressure was surprisingly decent – definitely better than half the boutique places I’ve stayed at that spend all their money on fancy lobby art and forget about basic plumbing. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building too, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but somehow still is.
Here’s the thing about the Trip Inn Esplanade – it’s got this practical, no-nonsense approach that I find refreshing. The breakfast setup isn’t Instagram-worthy, but it’s substantial and gets the job done without any fuss. They’ve got proper coffee (not that weak hotel stuff), decent pastries, and enough hot options to fuel whatever you’re planning for the day. The 7.3 rating makes perfect sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. I’ve stayed at flashier places with worse service and supposedly “luxury” spots where half the amenities didn’t work properly. Sometimes you just want a place that handles the basics really well – good sleep, solid shower, reliable service – and that’s exactly what you get here. It’s the kind of hotel I’d book again without hesitation, especially if I’m more focused on exploring the area than lounging around my room.
