Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Prinz Anton surprised me. I mean, when you’re walking down Karl-Anton-Strasse in Stadtmitte, you might almost miss it – it’s got this understated charm that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier places. But honestly, that’s part of what I loved about it.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Düsseldorf at all. You’re literally in the heart of everything without being on one of those crazy busy tourist strips where you can’t sleep past 7 AM. I could walk to the Königsallee for shopping (well, window shopping mostly – those prices are something else), and the old town with all its breweries was maybe ten minutes on foot. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I’d walked to the Rhine promenade for my morning coffee – apparently not everyone realizes how close it really is. There’s this little bakery around the corner on Berger Strasse that locals go to, and I swear the hotel folks tipped me off to it during check-in, which was refreshingly quick and friendly.
What really struck me was how the place felt authentic rather than trying too hard. The rooms aren’t massive – this is a 3-star in a city center, so manage expectations – but they’re thoughtfully done. My room faced the street side, and sure, you get some noise during the day, but it dies down nicely in the evenings. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the shower pressure was solid. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where the water barely trickles out. The WiFi worked everywhere, even in the elevator, which is more than I can say for that boutique place I tried in Cologne last year. Parking was the usual city center challenge – there’s a garage nearby but it’s not cheap, though honestly that’s just Düsseldorf for you. If you’re coming by train, though, you’re golden since the Hauptbahnhof is close enough that you won’t need a taxi unless you’re hauling massive luggage. The whole experience felt effortless in a way that makes you realize how often hotels overcomplicate things. It’s the kind of place where you settle in quickly and think, “yeah, I could definitely stay here again.”
The concierge service in Dusseldorf can arrange exclusive tours of luxury fashion boutiques, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized visits to world-class art museums and the scenic Rhine promenade.

Great experience for us and a much shorter Uber/Taxi ride to our conference. – Francis from United States – 15 November 2024 (8/10)
We had a room in the Apartments that had a king sized bed, which was very clean and the accommodating. The staff was excellent and very attentive to us when we go in early. This was a very positive experience for us.
What could be improved: There was no elevator in either building, and we were in town for a week for a conference and had very large luggage. While we were on the 1st floor, my colleague was on the 3rd floor and had to carry his bags up and down 3 flights of stairs. In our case, the shower was a bit small for me, but was ok for me wife.A great welcome! – Brian from United Kingdom – 29 August 2024 (9/10)
The staff are amazing, the room was spacious with great pillows! The breakfast was superb too, such a bonus.
