Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Messe Residence by Gerda Good Living,” I thought it sounded like some corporate chain trying too hard to be boutique. But this place actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way. It’s tucked away on Felix-Klein-Straße in Golzheim, which honestly most tourists skip right over, but that’s exactly why it works so well.
The whole “digital access” thing isn’t just marketing speak – they’ve actually nailed the tech side without making it feel cold or impersonal. You know how some hotels go overboard with the smart everything and you end up spending twenty minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the lights? Not here. Everything just… works. The check-in was seamless (I got my access codes via text while I was still on the U-Bahn), and the rooms have this clean, modern vibe that feels more like a really well-designed apartment than a hotel room. The beds are seriously comfortable too – I’m talking that perfect firmness where you don’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night.
What really sold me on this place, though, is the location. Golzheim gets overlooked because it’s not right in the Altstadt with all the tourist chaos, but that’s actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re experiencing real Düsseldorf. You’re a quick walk to the Rhine promenade (which is gorgeous, especially in the evening), and the neighborhood has these great little cafés and restaurants that locals actually go to. Plus, if you’re here for business – and let’s face it, a lot of people are in Düsseldorf – you’re close to the Messe without being stuck in that sterile exhibition center bubble. The whole area is quiet at night, which I appreciated after dealing with street noise at other hotels in the city center. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will tell you is not something to take for granted. The staff, when you actually need to interact with them, clearly know what they’re doing – no fumbling around or putting you on hold while they figure things out. It’s that kind of efficiency that makes you realize why this place has such solid ratings.
Visitors often choose Dusseldorf apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Rhine metropolis.

Reviews
Superb – Frey from United States – 4 August 2025 (9/10)
The place has a lot of space. The bed was big and comfy. The bathroom was sparklingly clean. There were three towels available, which was helpful. During my four day stay there, the cleaning personnel came once, which was not bad. It's about 12 minutes from the main station by U78 or U79. Getting the key was pretty straight forward. But I didn't care for the online check in. I like the fact that it has a simple kitchen. So I could fry an egg or something.
What could be improved: There is no soap in the bathroom and the shower and shampoo gel they provide was insufficient for any stay for over two days.Superb – Eric from Canada – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
lean and nice
Classy, convenient and comfortable – Daniel from Malta – 1 June 2025 (9/10)
I stayed in Room 202 and had a great experience. The accommodation is conveniently located near a tram stop, with an easy 10-minute ride to the city centre. While the area isn’t central, it’s very quiet and well-equipped with nearby amenities like a bakery, supermarket, and several restaurants.
The room was spotlessly clean, and both check-in and check-out were impressively smooth. I was pleasantly surprised to find an Apple TV box, which added a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked with ample cutlery in case I wanted to cook, and the generous number of clothes hangers in the wardrobe was also much appreciated.
What could be improved: The pillows were a bit too soft for my liking.Superb – Pavel from Russia – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
Perfect fit for those who come for the exhibition
Excellent Hotel – Dinesh from Slovakia – 31 March 2025 (10/10)
Facilities in room were excellent . It is very close to airport and there is a tram station in 200m.
Rooms were clean. I would recommend this hotel. My expectations were well met – David from South Africa – 18 March 2025 (9/10)
Size of the room was fantastic
What could be improved: The list of
House rules made it feel rather unwelcomingSuperb – Yunus from Turkey – 27 January 2025 (9/10)
The room is good, clean and comfortable as seen in the pictures. Everything is good, the price is very good, especially the view is very beautiful.
What could be improved: only sound coming from next roomEasy, clean and well equipped suite near the exhibition centre – Louis from Spain – 21 January 2025 (9/10)
There was free tea and coffee pads but no milk. It is an apto for swlf catering. Breakfast was only provided in next door's Turkish fine dine restaurant and quite expensive.
Very close to the U-Bahn and trade fair centre.
Super comfy and clean apto.
What could be improved: It would be good to be able to shut off wifi and 5G during night. A coffee place for early breakfasts would be great.
In winter, the view is depressing but wide.Exceptional – Hui from China – 16 December 2024 (10/10)
clean and comfortable.

The location is very close to the metro station, which provides easy access to Messe Düsseldorf and the city of Düsseldorf as well. it's also very close to the airport (around 10 minutes by car).
What could be improved: everything was great
